“Kaname Okimura, a student of Prefectoral Umineko Shougyou High (”Umisho” for short), joined the school’s swimming club in order to learn how to swim, but the club is filled with weirdoes, let alone teach him swimming. Then, a sunny, happy-go-lucky girl named Amuro Ninagawa who was transferred from Okinawa joined the club. Her extraordinary underwater speed and unorthodox swimming style (plus her personal habit of nude swimming — a powerful magnet to teenage boys) surprised every club member, especially Okimura, because she reminds him a mermaid-like creature he saw only once in his early childhood.”

biankita	Reply Oct 31 2007 01:48 PM Well... I like the last episode and the ending, and i mean the one that came after the credits was great! Although I wanted to see what happened in what seemed to be a drunken beach party when everyone was lying on the sand, I think it's better they left it like that other than show another episode which would come as serious. I'm glad it ended that way for Kaname and Amuro. It was sweet and without the mush. Although... it really makes you wonder what Shizouka asked from Kaname and if she every got that tusk-looking... pe-pe-pe...

Hiroyuki Avatar	Reply Oct 30 2007 06:44 PM I was disappointed she wasn't a mermaid, but OTOH this is an anime-only ending since the manga is still ongoing, so maybe in the manga she will turn out to be a mermaid. I don't know about a second series, it didn't look like they were aiming towards one but I wouldn't count it out either.

And i can honestly say this series wouldnt have been has without the Captain, and possibly the leader of that Rival school the blondie. How could they set up for a second season, it would be rather dissapointing if they went with a second since they wrapped up the first so nicly imo. As for its popularity i dont think it did too well in Japan, yeah anime has ratings like the US.

marsonkhan	Reply Oct 30 2007 03:45 PM I think most portions of the series were a hoot - but could have easily lived through it without the cross-dressing captain. An American trait, I suppose. I admit I thought Amuro really was a mermaid, and a transformation would occur in the final episode, leading to all sorts of trouble. But I am just as content with her not being one. Looks like they are setting up for a second season. I wonder how popular the show was in Japan? Do they have ratings like in the U.S.?

smittles Avatar	Reply Oct 29 2007 07:23 PM Well AYU have released episode 13 so no more waiting! I hope it is a good ending! I wanna see Kaname and Amuro end nicely together. The preview of this episode did show Amuro wanting her wish from Kaname!
