Chrome Shelled Regios as being one of his favourite anime and, 14 days later I finished watching it. He didn't warn me that, combined with my busy schedule, watching it would make me lose sleep. Damn cliff hangers! I guess that's one of the pitfalls of watching an anime when all the episodes have been released.
I like a good SciFi/Fantasy and this strong elements of both generes. Happily, I was generally able to turn a blind eye to the smattering of Ecchi moments. I'm sure the guys had quite a different reaction to that random rough handling but all I could think was "Ouch!". It frustrated me that Leerin's elbows didn't automatically head for Synola's/Alsheyra's ribs!
Heaven's Blades, DITEs, Military Artists ... the military aspect is a key factor but it is handled in such a way that there is a good element of mystery intertwined. There an interesting spin on the familiar dystopic world anime with filth monsters, moving cities and electronic fairies.
Watching Layfon Wolfstein Alseif's story gradually unfold and his character develop kept things interesting.
In a number of ways Nina Antalk reminded of the character Alice L. Malvin from
Pumpkin Scissors.
The "English" was umm ... I'm glad there were subtitles! Despite that I wish I could track down
Legend of Regios I'm curious to see what it reveals.
I wonder if there will be a second season or at least an OVA. It seems as if a number of loose ends weren't exactly tied up.
