Year: 2010

Seven years ago, Yuto Amakawa's parents died in a car accident, leaving him alone without a single relative, the only item left of his family being a strange and mysterious amulet given to him by his late grandmother. Ever since then, his childhood friend Rinko Kuzaki (and her parents) has cooked and taken care of him. His life takes a drastic turn on his 16th birthday when he meets Himari, a cat spirit samurai girl. Himari reveals to him that some of his ancestors were part of the twelve Demon Slayer families that have been slaying demons since the feudal era. She has sworn an oath to protect Yuto from the demons that are out to kill him, but Yuto's allergy to cats makes it somewhat difficult to deal with.
Later on, Yuto encounters various girls who take a liking to him: Shizuku, a mizuchi in the form of a small child; Lizlet, a tsukumogami in the form of a busty tea-serving maid; and Kuesu, another Demon Slayer who is revealed to be Yuto's fiancée and an object of Yuto's lost past.

This anime leaves so many unanswered questions , like if he really lost his powers or not or if he was really just pretending we really have no way of knowing not to mention I want to see the rest of the demon slaying clans . Im sure theres a billion different ways that they could incorperate the other demon slayer famillies, more demons, and if he really has his powers and if so is that is high as powers can go or can he learn new techinques and upgrade his powers but what he really needs is to learn to fight its a little pathetic how he has to rely on everyone else to save him so therefore i belive there could be a second season.

Finally finished this series. This show lacked a lot of things, good animation quality, good soundtrack, and a good plot. The amount of plot holes in this show was incredibly vast and it seems that the creators have no intention of covering them up with an OVA or special of some sort. It seems as though they mainly spent their time making t-shirts as shown in the sponsor commercials over production of the actual show. To some extent, the fanservice in this show wasn't even that good and the action was always half-done. The animation quality was very mediocre from ZEXCS. If you ask me, Umi Monogatari even looked better and that plot was even worse than this (despite a similar human coexistence plot)

The biggest facepalm moment was when Yuuto didn't have the guts to slay Himari. That one moment may have been the largest turning point in the series. It's hard to believe that I actually expected the series to have potential when it first started, especially given how poor all the episodes were.

This one will be archived and essentially never watched again. I don't recommend watching this show if you have spare time. If you want a cat-like show, go watch Nyan Koi!, Mayoi Neko Overrun!, or Kanokon, both of which are better than this. If you want love romance or harem, this is definitely the wrong show and you should be watching Shuffle! or Gift ~Eternal Rainbow~. Furry-fetish? Try Spice and Wolf. Swordplay, there are tons better out there. Asu no Yoichi is probably the closest one that fits all of these (except the furry aspect). Although not a perfect series, definitely better than Omamori Himari.

As for when compared to the rest of the season this aired in, this is pretty bad. Hidamari Sketch x Hoshimittsu, Nodame Cantabile, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, were among its main competitors while everything else, including this show, fell apart from beginning to end. Score: 5/10 -- I'm in fact considering giving this show a 4/10, but there was one scene that was quite decent in this show and that's probably what's changing my mind.

I forgot to post about finishing this series as well. I marathoned this about 3 weeks ago but after Ladies versus Butlers I believe.

It was a good series.....its just I can't remember much about it. Apart from that the series did the dark undertones pretty well and it felt very similar to Akikan especially the last battle seemed very similar to the last battle in Akikan.

Kuesu-chan was my favourite character of the series.

I'm rating this series based on my MAL rating and it will get a 7.5/10.

I wish for a season 2 for the continuing story but its highly unlikely because the anime was produced by the small animation studio that is ZEXCS.

Im not really surprised that the Kyuubi is now part of them, I was certain that something like this would happen.

What surprised me a bit was that other than Himari and Yuuto -a bit- everyone else was damn useless in the end. I really was looking forward to a serious battlescene of Kuesu.

The Kyuubi was really good looking in his real form, but Himari looked just damn hot in the Light Ferry "armor".

In the end I give this anime a 8.5/10. It had a nice story, good characters, good battlescenes and a lot of naked skin ^^

Well for starters the kitsune is now hanging around eveyone like it's a normal thing for her to do. I mean they are more or less still fighting against them in the manga though. It's just the battles have been prolonged, and more along the line of Yuto being dragged into batte from this point out.

Unless there's a story arc after them then it's best to leave it as is for the time being.

Well it seems that the final episode more or less killed it from having another season of this. I mean it's still an ongoing series and it feels like it has more potential of having more of a story and action involved in it. Well aside from tat the way it ended I have to give it a 7.5/10.

It's not bad for you average ecchi action series.

Why would you say it killed it from having a second season. The Arc ended somewhat like the manga.

The next story would be great for animation but the manga has to get ahead a little

Yepp ep 8 was great.
I was pretty surprised that they solved the problem with Kuesu that fast and that she could react like this. Its a nice twist, but I still cant see her as a real allie.
But I wonder why the other families want their two families dead. Ok Kuesus because they learned western magic and I think Yutos because they stopped beeing Demon Slayers.

@Nemingway: Yeah I wouldve wanted to switch with him too. I couldnt have restrained myself ^^
