A young Taiwanese assassin codenamed "Glass Heart" committed suicide by jumping off a building, and her heart was pierced by a metal fence. Miraculously, her life was saved by a heart transplantation. During her recovery she began to experience strange dreams. These dreams lead her to Japan to look for the donor of her heart who happens to be Kaori Makimura, former partner of City Hunter Ryo Saeba.

* Set in a similar universe to City Hunter.

The links are down because they had to change trackers. The groups is still subbing the eps, just slowly. I haven't heard of there being another series after this one, but I wish there was.

I think they are doing a good job with how they are doing the series. Yes it is missing a few aspects but overall, I think it is still a very emotional but not the level of emotion as in Kanon 2006.

Actually the mokkori humour and 100ton hammers do make occasionally appear in the Angel Heart manga, but some mokkori humour are a bit too perverted they got removed in the anime.

I think you're absolutely right and also totally wrong. Angel Heart is NOT City Hunter. It's an alternate universe, with some of the same characters. I think it has the same heartfelt underpinning of the earlier show, but it's strictly intended as a drama with some comedy and not a comedy with some drama (which was the premise of CH).

Having seen and read City Hunter, Angel Heart is a very watered down version of its predecessor. Comical Ryo went from the notorious pervy mercenary to a fatherly figure of a girl, tho interesting in its own premise, doesn't have the same humor as City Hunter. The scriptwriter should have made another season of City Hunter and put back a lot of the ecchi humor the manga has into the anime.
