@Kit: Decent animation quality in X-Men? Worse animatin Quality comapred to X-Men in Blade? Seriously man you should let you eyes getting checked since thats as impossible as drinking a house.

If you bar episode 4 of X-Men with Wolverine's fight in the sky, X-Men's quality was better. The animation difference is particularly noticeable in the action sequences, especially when its dark. Blade lost a lot of detail by replacing scenes with simple backgrounds and far too many recycled animation sequences to be considered a high animation quality relative X-Men.

Marvel saved the best for last. Blade was far better than Iron Man and Wolverine and thanks to the far superior animation qulaity its been better than X-Men.

Overall it wasnt a great show but it was nice to watch. Just like a Hollywood action movie, yeah like Blade.
Biggest negative point was (as it is moslty in Hero- and Action-movies) that the main villain was portrayed as invincible and uber strong but still went down easily. The other negative point was Makotos death. Sure it added a lot to the series and such but still. They couldve killed Helsing to get the same in my eyes.

A 8/10 from me.

well the Marvel anime series are done with this grand finale of Blade, surpassing the other four (including Heroman)... it all indicates Blade and Noah Helsing will hunt the european purebloods next if there is a second season, probably Kikyo or some other Marvel character will support them, would be cool to see the X-calibur british division of X-Men

...a solid 8 / 10 from me, didn't like some aspects like most vampires instantly burning and reduced to dust in a second by a single silver slash, bullet or some holy water or sunbeam, anyways Blood-C is a joke in compasion if we talk about vampire hunters fighting with katanas

Liked how Blade paid homage to his fallen partner, the lovely Makoto, may she rest in peace. I shudder to think what more damage Blade would have done had frosty and oh so cold, Deacon Frost turned her into one of his hideous minions. Glad this series did not go there. Not great but it kept me entertained while smexy Yukio-san is always easy on a fangirl's eyes. He is just too yummy with his smoothness and great hair. If they did make a second season (doubt it) but if they did, I would consider watching. 7/10.

Blade...the 4th and final Marvel x Madhouse collaboration project. Hard to believe that it's literally been one year since it all began with Iron Man.

Blade follows vampire hunter Eric Brooks who is out seeking vengeance against vampires for killing his family, particularly seeking out Deacon Frost. The story is relatively linear as with all Marvel x Madhouse projects. The problem with Blade was a lot of unnecessary add-ins and portrayal of what turned out to be a pathetic villain who not only lacked depth but also lacked any sense in why he was the villain at all. To start, the addition of Wolverine and Kikyoy was really not necessary. In fact it was a waste of "precious" space for better writing. Granted that the Marvel staff likely had an influence in this decision, it was out of place no matter how you looked at it. Secondly, Deacon Frost was a dumb character to the very end. You really can't take him seriously. He's the villain because "he wanted to avenge his son by killing all the vampires and then make an immortal army of vampires....in addition he turns himself into a vampire"....none of that makes any logical sense and any further conclusion that can be drawn with reference to that only makes less sense. Lastly, his final "transformation" at the end was nothing more than a fluke. Taken out in less than 3 minutes without showing any "real" power for becoming a daywalker.

The show had a couple good points, but nothing particularly noteworthy. The flashbacks of Blade's past were very high quality relative to the rest of the show and added a lot of depth to his character. Other than that though, that's really about it. Everything else was "flashy"

Animation was poor though the "black and white-ish" cut-in scenes were really pretty. There was a ton of recycled animation. It just seems very odd that the budget for this Marvel x Madhouse shows was so low, especially given the decent quality that X-Men was even though it aired in 480p.

Music was okay like all the previous works...simple remixes of the main instrumentals, which isn't a bad thing since simple is always good. Seiyuu...not much to see here since the dialogue in this show was actually very minimal if you look back. A lot more screaming that anything else.

Enjoyment? It's a Marvel x Madhouse collaboration so no. X-Men was really the only one that was enjoyable, let alone worth watching. Blade is as much of a "letdown" as the other two works: Wolverine and Iron Man as expected. Nothing to see here.

Overall, Blade falls short from X-Men: poor writing and animation, both of which stood out like a sore thumb across many shows this past season. No rewatch value and no chance of recommendation unless you're a diehard Marvel fan who "absolutely must" see this.

Preliminary Score: 5/10

Last three episodes have been my favorite so far. Love seeing sexy Kikyo again and was glad he will now go up against Frost in order to save Blade and because despite it all, my man has scruples and lives the way of the Sword. I would never toss that babe out the way his Master did...he's always got a warm bed in my humble abode. Blade has been the best of the four, in my humble opinion. Glad I decided to watch it til the end. { }

haha agreed, Blade definitively is the best Marvel anime yet... better watch these last two episodes, telling by the preview Kikyo will team up with the Daywalker to take down Frost and all his vampire empire (no rhyme intended)

what a badass (and sad) 11th episode, sad because Makoto is bitten by - yup, the same Dickon taking away one by one those dear to Eric, who has no choice but to kill them... and badass with Noah Helsing who saves the day with his M61 Vulcan gatlin gun and explodes with C4 the entire tai base, also the battle at Existence's home base Armoroad between thousands of pureblood knights and artificial vampires reminded me to Ultimate Hellsing's war, with Blade fighting both sides instead of Alucard

well as expected of Marvel this time they crossover Blade and Wolverine's anime characters from episode 7 to 9, I liked those far more than the crossover eps of Iron Man+Logan and Wolverine+Cyclops on their respective series

Blade and co. arrive at Madripoor in ep 7, the same asian outlaw island where Logan is back to take revenge on A.I.M. and they tag to beat one of the noble purebloods there... eps. 8 and 9 take place in northwestern Vietnam, where Kikyo (from the Wolverine anime) is hired by Deacon Frost and he fights his old rival Eric and their Yagyuu sword master becoming in a vampire by Frost

...so far this series turned in a big surprise for me, better than the previous Marvel anime in general, Blade's plot develops not only in Japan and U.S. but in many other countries and their different vampire types are based on their respective cultures and mythologies

The animation for X-men was actually pretty good, it's just the rips we got sucked royally.

As I remember a Mary Sue is an idolized perfect beeing without flaws

Well you remember wrong, I suggest you read up on it. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MarySue

I'm not myself sure the girl was a Mary Sue or not, but I agree that she and anything that revolved around her was pretty boring and dragged the series down.

The Blade girl is still pretty cliche and boring imo, though at least not by anime standards, but by Holywood standards.
