I think this is the last part of my weekend binge, may be missing one or two series. The innocence of this series made me smile as much as the first season, and that's all that can really be said. Worth the watch from a warm fuzzies pov, and somehow didn't get stale for me. 7/10

Shinryaku!? Ika Musume, the sequel to the popular Shinryaku! Ika Musume from Fall 2010. With a new staff but the same voice cast, Ika Musume returns for yet another comedic season.

Story is the same, animation is the same, music is about the same quality (though I'm biased towards sphere) but enjoyment seems to have fallen a bit.

In terms of the enjoyment, the jokes got old and there really seemed to be a lack of a conclusion unlike the first season. In addition, there was nothing new in this season that the original could not have done. In fact, this felt like the new staff was simply trying to milk the franchise at the end of the day or simply recycling it. There were a few good segments but overall it really comes down to simply watching one or the other or just treating the series as a whole as a part of a 24 episode run.

In a season where comedy was big with titles like Working'!! and Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai are already on the table, Ika Musume, unfortunately seems like the odd ball. Had this series come out a few years later/not so soon after the first, it may have had a greater impact but because it didn't, it lacks anything nostalgic or creative at the moment. However, you really can't blame a series for coming out at the wrong or right time... It is what it is at the end of the day.

So season 2 is now over too. It was again a really funny show, with some new characters and thus new jokes. Still it didnt have the same impact as season one had, simply because back then it was new.

The last part with Ika and Eiko was pretty nice, but predictable. Still great to see everyone except Cindy (why?) in Yukatas.

8/10 from me (first season had 9/10).

This was a very good episode. First up the fight for the beef. Sure was fun to see them realize they forgot someone . Then came the absolute highlight: Chizuru giving self defence lessons. Goro may be happy she is nursing him back to life but he should have known better. Chizuru ain't a normal girl . The snow part was also nice with the three stooges making very good machines but forgetting simple things like the battery of the remote.
Hopefully the next episode is going to be just as good and with the mini-ika's again

It should be here. Well for now I would say to try tokyotosho or nyaa for it or go to the fansubgroups horriblesubs or FFFpeeps. Or just wait for the other groups. A lot of groups are doing this series so just wait and pick the one you like best.

Episode 4 and 5 in one go . Episode 4 was nice with the english mistakes. Second best was the tickling. Shizuru really was showing her dangerous side again. The main highlight was the small ika in the last part. Very cute to see and the Lenon house was also something fun.

Episode 5 however was different than expected. Ika was pretty serious this time. To see her feel sorry for breaking the car was unexpected. Normally she would try to brush it off but this time maybe due to being friends she couldn't. The playing alone part felt sad too. It was a bit like the ant was her. The middle part with the tanabate was fun to watch. Her wishes really are just as we expect her to be.

Eh, to each their own I guess. I'm pleasantly surprised that the concept still gets a laugh out of me even after so many eps, and ep 2 & 3 didn't dissapoint. Ep2 was phenomenal, got a kick out of the jealous teacher, spiked knuckles, and the weight dilemma. I liked ep 3 too, think I related to the dog since I've raised several...the napoleon complex and pee w/ rainbow got me rolling, as did the whistle on wasting shrimp and the killer whale float (reminded me of those cheesy SouthWest Air commercials). Yeah, the exercise thing was a little wierd but the introspective innocence just kills me.

Already episode 3 and somehow i found this episode not so good. Ika walking with the dog felt boring. The exercise part was better but still felt weak. The only part which was nice was the lifeguard part but that was due to the seriousness of Ika to helping people. I hope that we get a better episode next time..

From now on Im trying to get the FFFPeeps release. They made season 1 back then too.
