Jul 9 2011 10:18 PM Season 2....kind of a letdown. There was some development on what the loose souls are, but that hype really died down in the second half. A lack of Haqua was also a major issue when people and the promotions made such a big deal about her appearance this season.
Season 2 ends the same way as its prequel with an "omake"-like episode about Keima's games. Good comedy relief, especially of it reminding me of the "Am I cute ~uguu" meme.
Animation is the same as its prequel which is solid coming from Manglobe. OP visuals continue to be stunning along with the subsequent music. It's interesting to see the ED not having individual heroine themes like the first season did, but it wasn't that important.
Character development was also pretty solid this time around. For a 12 episode show, they actually covered quite a lot of ground. Bringing back the prequel's heroines, particularly Ayumi was a very nice touch.
Enjoyment? Aside from Haqua's arc, there wasn't much interest in this show. Kusunoki's arc was similar to those in season 1, Chihiro's and Jun's arc provided an interesting twist into how Keima thinks about his life.
Overall, from what it looks like, Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai will get a third season, and will likely be the last given all the dialogue hints in that preview and final couple minutes. As a stand alone however, the second season didn't really move the plot more forward than the first season did. Hopefully the third season (if there is one) will provide more interesting twists like in Haqua's arcs.
Preliminary Score: 7/10
