Jun 29 2011 10:11 PM Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi is based off a visual novel made by the creators of Akane iro ni Somaru Saka. For those who didn't know, the story for the anime was written by the same person who did all 3 Koihime Musou series to date along with Myself;Yourself. For those familiar with Myself;Yourself, this show is in essence a significantly watered down version of it. For those unfamiliar with the series, its another harem show...with a brother involved. No there is no yaoi/incest. There are "traps" to some extent.
On a more serious note, what this show really lacked was any significant development. We all knew that Ibuki, Ui, and Madoka were going to be the ones that the series came down to. Whether or not one actually got picked is another matter. However, the lack of Madoka development really annoyed me. As an iconic character of the show (showing up as the first heroine character in the series if I recall), it's incredibly disappointing to see her get little to no screen time or development. Ibuki got a little too much development and obviously get the short end of the stick as expected in the end. Sakai got a bit too much development as well for being such a minor character to the overall "plot."
As for the last episode, that was some terrible acting by Tsumugi when she was "faking" her illness. Also, there was a lack of any significant buildup to Ui being the one chosen in the end. It's nice to see a harem show finally pick a girl again, but it's annoying to see a lack of direction leading to it.
Animation is by Doga Kobo, the same people who provided animation to Koihime Musou, 11eyes, and Myself;Yourself. The animation certainly had a feel similar to 11eyes but a step up. Definitely a plus for the studio, but certainly far from the norm quality of animation....though the highest quality animation was the carriage in the last episode...
Music was pretty bad for this show...and seiyuus were all really bland here (they all sound the same in this show for the most part).
Enjoyment? Not really. Ui's airhead antics were a bit awesome at times and Ayumu's trap fest was a tad hilarious, but other than that, this show had no enjoyment value. Kasane was awesome, but lacked screen time to have any significant impact.
Overall, I wouldn't even call this show a disappointment. It was bad to begin with and bad as expected more or less. Nothing special from this show, and the "plot" was simply all over the place. You could literally skip over half of this show and still understand what's going on and what you may have "missed." When a show does that, you know that it's a bad show.
