When the reproduction proceeds to A.D. 1413, a war breaks out in Shinshu and Juso Sekai falls onto the original world.

The humans living in Juso Sekai lose their land and invade the original world. People in Shinshu surrender and the land is divided by the invaders from Juso Sekai. Did you like it enough to watch the continuation, wedora?

I'm a bit unsure of how I feel about this series myself. I like the eye candy, but I'm totally lost as to whats going on. That being said, I'm still not finished the series... 3 episodes to go!

The last couple eps were kind of touching and sets up nicely for the continuation, so if I have time I'll give the next season a chance. The summation of this "arc" was very much a big warm fuzzy, so if I were you I'd at least watch through it and see where you stand on it afterwards.

Instead of deleting these eps I marathoned them last night due to some positive responses here and came away feeling somewhewre between "meh" and smiling. Thas because while its a deep concept once you figure out what the hell is going on, its impossible to take it anything but lighthearted because of the presentation, characters, and music. In that sense, the series was an ok watch because you just knew it wasn't going to end ugly and could just enjoy the combat, tactics, and eye candy factor. If you take it seriously, you will hate it. If not, you can enjoy the animation, choreography, and trollish plot that has nonsensical twists not worth dwelling upon. The hard part is nailing down the possibilities of plot progression in such a poorly explained conceptual world, allowing you to not become so lost and detached. I think this is another series where japanese background or history will tend to make it more enjoyable and drive a nostalgia effect.

6/10 from me as a result. Time sink, eye candy, catchy bgm, oddball concept, and smiles. Nothing more.

Actually I have to say it was more like Seductive Dexterity beating out Strength with that fight you guys are talking about. In any case I didn't look up the info at all and jumped right into it, and I have to say it is a bit hard to folow, but still it's rather fun to watch if you ask me. Maybe I should of read that part to enojy this series moe so, but oh well maybe I'll read it to kill time before they pick up on the second half of this seires though.

Sorry but if I have to dig up information on the internet just to get what happens in the seires than something is more than just wrong. If its like that then they could spare themselves the time for the anime and let the people read the novels.

@julezia: Kimi won because she has a high agility and bodycontrol through the dancing and the totally threw Futayo out of her rythm. Since Futayo couldnt think straight it was easy for Kimi to beat her. Or easily said, Wits defeated Strength.

It's got a great premise and many people foresaw the strong story that would eventually arise, but sadly, the show really tests the audience's patience to its limit if you ask me. It's not a show that you literally can present to someone and claim it's good. It's a show that you need to give someone time and find a way to shove the first half of the series in their face all at once. Furthermore, the vast amount of terminology (as anticipated) as well as characters make it very hard for someone to just jump right in.

In order to enjoy this I had to look up information on the series, I found this website quite helpful: http://kyoukaisen.tumblr.com/

Many ppl don't have the patience to look up information just to get an idea of what the heck is going on. Quite frankly it's testing my patience as well. I do find the overall story intriguing though, which is why I'm sticking with it. I'm still not finished the series, maybe the background information is presented with more clarity later on....?

I have to say another one of the reasons I'm watching it is because I love Kimi Aoi's scintillating personality. I don't have a clue how she won the battle against Futayo though, other than because she's just awesome. I know it has something to do with her goddess, her name and dance... but all of that just went over my head.

Like you say though, it's not a show that's easy to recommend to others. If you're not familiar with the light novels, I think it's hard to get in to... unless you're a hardcore anime fan like Kit and I XD

Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon is based off a popular light novel of the same name. It started off as a complete troll show with not only the protagonist looking and acting like a constant troll but also the poor presentation of the story...that is true, at least for the first 3-4 episodes. From there one out, I would say the show really began to pull through and show what it's really about. While the show constantly included common cliche elements as well as lacked an overall serious tone and pathetic battle sequences, I found it to be actually a hilarious watch at the end of the day. The comedy was surprisingly well done as Tori constantly trolled everyone. The cliffhanger for the second season isn't exactly an enticing cliffhanger that makes me want to watch more, but as I initially thought, the premise or his show is actually very interesting and I'm glad they managed to at least bring out that element throughout these 13 episodes, unlike a few other shows these past few seasons.

Animation wise was pretty darn cheap from Sunrise. For a studio that produced at least decent animation for worse shows like Sacred Seven and Gundam Age, I'm fairly disappointed that this got the short end of the stick, especially when it's getting a sequel next summer. The fact that they don't even bother to move character mouths in side shots when they talk in a number of scenes is just wrong in this day and age. Art wise though, is fair.

Soundtrack is quite strong for this show. Loved the battle and "enter hero" type background music. OP could use a bit of work but the EDs were decent, especially the one by Ceui. Seiyuu was priceless, particularly for Tori. Jun Fukuyama playing two different ends of the spectrum: one is his usual comedic voice while the other is the unforgettable Lelouch/Zero voice from Code Geass. Great usage. Minori Chihara as Horizon could have been cast better though in my opinion. While Horizon does give off the Yuki Nagato feel from Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya of whom Minori voiced as, it didn't have the same impact, especially when Horizon retrieved one of her emotions back towards the end of the season. The vast amount of characters in this show, unfortunately make most other characters forgettable and relatively unimportant.

Enjoyment? Like I said, the show sucked really bad the first 3 or 4 episodes before things got serious. I was literally bored to death watching them as it felt as if I was watching "just another romantic comedy." Of course, looking back with 20/20 hindsight, I really should have paid more attention to the time stamps as they did play an overall role in bringing the story's foundation together. It's a huge misjudgment of mine to ignore it, but am glad I stuck with the series to the end regardless.

Overall, Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon likely lost 80% of its initial viewers just from the first one or two episodes alone. Heck by the end of the season, I barely know even 1/4 of the Musashi students, let alone the other characters in this show. Regardless, it's been a roller coaster for this season but I look forward to the sequel now. Long story short for this season: good story, poor execution/presentation.

Preliminary Score: 6/10
Final Score: 7/10

Pretty much since it's a split series it was expected that they would leave on a clifhangar like that mind you. I mean this series happens to be good since it's best not to take this way to seriously mind you.

Besides I'm looking foward to seeing how Toori can pull off his trolling moments for the next season. I mean for this epsidoe to have him upset since he wasn't able to get the Lust Armament for Horizon was classic if you ask me.

So finally the last ep ended so that I could finish this show. Overall, not great. Too many characters, too many stupid things (baseball throwing as attacks? Sorry thats too weird even for me) and now clue what really happens and who is who and who belongs to who and why does someone what he does. All in all it was a giant mix of far too much stuff. They shouldve taken their time and let us know the characters and the story and different nations and so on instead of going all out from the beginning.

Only a 5/10 from me and with that the second worst show this season.
