Jormungand Perfect Order is the second half of Jormungand, which had premiered earlier in 2012. You can read the review of season 1 here. It continues directly from the events of its prequel and seeing as they aired within the same year, I will keep this review brief. Jormungand Perfect Order premiered during the Fall 2012 anime season and like its prequel, it was simulcasted by Funimation.

After the disappointing and uninteresting performance that Jormungand presented in the first half of 2012, it returns once more to redeem itself. Unlike season 1, the combat is far more believable with Koko's team actually struggling, or so we thought. At the end of the day, Koko loses only one member in her team (not counting Jonah). Operation Jormungand really just comes out of nowhere and of course becomes the "overarching" plot. The show's buildup to what Jormungand really is as well as its impact is overall weak even after its revelation. Conclusion wise, the two year time skip is quite unnecessary and in fact more of a bother than anything else. Furthermore, it feels as if the "story" is not over at all.

Art is still grainy like the first season and character designs obviously have not yet changed. Animation has improved with better action sequences but that's about it. Jormungand still remains White Fox's weakest title by a mile.

Enjoyment? At the end of the day, Black Lagoon is a far more interesting show in almost every regard. Better action, better developments, better everything that Jormungand tried to do. The one "advantage" that Jormungand currently has is that along with Black Lagoon this space in anime remains relatively scarce. One could argue titles like Cowboy Bebop, Black Cat, Phantom, Gunslinger Girl, Ghost in the Shell, Speed Grapher, Trigun, etc... are all similar. To some extent they are and I may have alluded to this in the first season review, but at the end Jormungand and Black Lagoon deal more with dealings to couple the action. The aforementioned titles do little to none. Hence Jormungand is indeed a niche title to some degree though certainly not without a lot of holes.

Overall, Jormungand can be a good time waster. But as said above, as well as in the first season review, Black Lagoon is a better title and I would think something else will eventually usurp Jormungand's position as it has set the bar relatively low for itself.

Preliminary Score: 6/10

Verdict = The ending Without a doubt sucked.

I agree with your review for the final episode of J II, Lavi-san. I found the last two episodes silly, unrealistic, non-threatening, and just plain rushed and schmaltzy.
I thought "what was the point to Jonah's getting angry" since in the end, all the fuss he made was for naught as he went back to her with his tail between his legs. I suppose the producers wanted us to think he could actually take her on and bring her to her knees but nope...he was allowed his temper tantrum and supposed escape from her influence...not really though, since he went to work for Kasper...whatever.
I will say that season I was my favorite and maybe first part of season II but after smexy R keeled over, my heart was not in it anymore. 7/10

Finally finished the show.

Verdict = The ending Without a doubt sucked.

Paraphrasing a review from MAL. I felt betrayed by the ending because it was a cheap way out to finish the show. Not only the ending was a Naive/Shallow in terms of the whole idea, but what it represented.
World peace can never ever be achieved, conflicts are part of nature even, animals also have conflicts. Its one of the means of Nature to instill growth. Humans are no exception, its just we can play it out in different ways (harmless and harmful).

In the end Koko was made to look like a child that couldn't take it anymore and had to take a cheap way out. Naive.

In terms of the whole idea, if you think about it. Koko w/o a doubt because of her actions, based on the political environment "shown" would help to create rather than prevent the world war 3 she earnestly did not want.

Nukes can still be dropped with earlier generation Planes can be still flown w/o the aid of computers.

Independent computers can still be used that has no means of connection to the outside world to prevent hacking.

Intelligence and espionage can still exist, old school ways.

She didn't exactly kill off all the scientists in the world. So counter-methods can still be devised to negate her plan.

Satellites are fragile. You could still make shockwave railguns that may possible reach the quantum computer.

etc. etc.
All in all it felt the author didn't really know how to wrap it up. It felt hastily finished and amateurishly done. What could have been dragged more to flesh out the other characters. Was completely ignored and prematurely ended.

Jormungand's strength was not in the grand plan. But of its characters. The complexity of the history of the characters, how they came to be etc. etc. Jormungand had lots of characters to play with. In the end it was wasted.

In an answer to Koko's terrible plan. She could've been a Peace keeping force or Sentinels of some sort, similar to FMP!'s Mithril. Considering she has the computer, she can easily monitor and steer the direction of conflicts.

There could've have been better ideas. Unfortunately Jormungand is a result of a concotions of good ideas and concepts fantastic characters but ultimately ended to be a wreck in terms of the ending.

Im severely disappointed because I had hopes for the show. 6.5/10

I declare that Chequita is the scariest of all. Insane skills, unbelievable reflexes, and totally and completely cold-heartedly ruthless. I can't believe Lehm was married to that beast.

You know, A~san...if she has unbelievable reflexes and insane skills and married at one time, to Lehm...well, methinks he had his reasons for having married her and perhaps, on the other side of that bedroom door, therein lies the secret...we will never be made privy to such unless he spills the bedroom beans.
Dang, but this show is great.

So Jormungand finally gets a bit better. Koko's group is no longer invincible but that shot through Hex's eye was rather unbelievable when you consider the same thing happened to R. With a finished source material I hope for a better a presentation than season 1 though.

How do you survive a bullet to the head again?

By having the bullet lose most its energy going through a scope before it hits your head.

BTW, standing in the middle of the street and shooting at each other isn't a test of skill, it's a test of idiocy. Why not stay in cover behind the car and shoot the dumb bitch, R?
