Ah...you are a resistant one.....it is a remake and not a continuation. I got this from
[B]doofie-san/B], who told me he watched the original as a little boy, and he said he was happy it is being remade. Remember, not all anime is for all folks....gee. I also read up on it before opening this thread...and confimed a remake. JCD where did you get the notion it was 4 series?...so off.

From what I gathered they were not seasons. They were series. As far as I can determine its the same series they just keep remaking it. Like how Kanon was remade only this makes Toei's 5th time animating Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro.

Yeah I watched this yesterday it was alright. I was about to make a thread for it but it seems I was beaten to the punch.

My only question is why is this the fifth anime remake of the series? Did the other four all suck?

Yes, it does but in a creepy, funny sort of way.....just watch and see. Dad is very loving towards his son Kitaro....I like this little series.

Just downloaded episode 1 of this series.....I love horror with some supernatural themes and black comedy thrown in...sorta like the Addams Family or the Munsters....I mean kids disappearing down the drain in the shower or while on the toilet? Gotta see to believe...not vulgar in any way, shape or form...but creepy, funny and entertaining. The main character, Kitaro, is mysterious and funny in a macabre sort of way. This anime reminds me of Hallowween, Japanese style........give it a go and see what you think....you're in for a fun time. Music is good too.....opening theme as well as closing. The animation art design is very nice...beautiful use of color and graphics. The fansubbers have done a fine job..love the text they are using, goes well with the anime itself....name of the group is Oedipus. Looking forward to more....
P.S. Just wait til you get a load of Kitaro's dad.....funny !
