Sorry to hear that. These problems should be posted in the episode playback help section. That way more people can see your problem and post in a more timely manner.

When you open the thread be sure to tell us what you did exactly. It would also help if you told us what version of Java you use and what player/codec packs you use. I've checked the file and it works for me; so this isn't a server-related problem. My general advice:

Update to the latest version of Java.
Get CCCP and use media player classic that comes with the codec pack.

This series I enjoyed very much, and is one of the few which I literly begged for a 2nd season from (other was Higurashi, not knowing that it was already in the works). Even OVA's to tie up loose ends, and explain certain things. I assume we were never supposed to find out more in regards to Taro and his sister, or the fathers suicide. Like in reality, some things string us along, with their being no actual reason.

I have really mixed feelings about the ending as well. One one hand, I love happy endings...they get me right in my sappy place. On the other hand, I agree that they let a lot of plot developments drop. Are we to assume that the reason Tarou's sister sort of fades from center stage is because he is no longer obsessed with her?  That's the message I got when Tarou refused to hear what Dr. Hirata had to say.

I wish they had spent a little more time wrapping up what happened to the plant.  Did everyone just run away? And yeah, what about all those guys who were somehow drawn to the area so they could astral project?  All they ended up doing was giving a few cheers when the spirit came out of the water.  Was that all they were waiting for?  And who pushed Miyako's father down the stairs?  I gather it was someone who wanted her to be the next priestess, (ie, that scary woman) but no one really says anything about it.

I will be watching this series again because I'm sure I missed things. That might help. Plus, I guess it's better to end with a little mystery--sometimes things can get really didactic if they plod through too many explanations. The ending didn't make me crazy, like "Serial Experiments Lain". I also thought the series was consistently good. There weren't any episodes that were boring or fillers (and we were certainly spared a beach episode, huh). My grousing is mostly because I wish the series could have been longer. I loved the atmosphere of it, the unexpectedness of it. It's probably one of my favorite series ever.

Someone got the budget cut at the end of the series. I don't remember seeing so crappy made last episode for quite a long time. Although I had high expectations after watching first few episodes, despite having some very, very good moments, the whole series left me with a feeling that the creators have abandoned this show at some point.

"The Unseen World is however undergoing a change, with its ghosts starting to appear in the real world, altering it in unpredictable ways." (taken from ANN) so what the heck happened to the unpredictability? In the end, the only thing that surprised me was it's commonness. All the evil that they have introduced in the first half of the series ended in more or less three 'construction workers'.

Were the creators forbidden to confront the characters with the true human maliciousness face-to-face? Most likely if they have gone to some onsen instead of rescuing the poor World without a slightest idea of what they are actually doing, the story would still somehow conclude itself. Not even fireworks, only some good'n'old happy ending that should make everyone happy. Well, unfortunately, it didn't make me happy at all.

Man its hard to put my finger on how I felt about the last episode. I had always envisioned the major plot line/climax being that Taro would end up remembering the day of the kidnapping. Also that he would most likely come in contact with his sister in the unforseen world. Though none of that happened and it seemed to get pushed to the side as we watched the last couple of episodes.

I'm not for sure what to make of the whole dragon spirit and all the guys who were projecting in the last episode. I thought something major was going to happen but ultimately it all seemed like one big distraction while Taro saved Miyako (very anticlimactic). Still confused about the role of the bionoids it seemed like they were just jumbled into all the confusion. So in the end everyone takes a picture like the previous generation & end up one big happy family I guess.

Well putting aside the last episode aside this was one of the most interesting animes I have seen. Sure I was confused here and there along the way especially with some of the scientific stuff but I would definitely recommend watching this series. It's been a while since I done this but it's definitely deserving of... Senpai's Seal of Approval

I'm totally caught up with this anime now, just one episode left... I don't think they are going to be able to tie up all the loose ends, but, I just want Miyako to be rescued from that horrible cult
...I wonder though if we will ever see who really kidnapped Taro and his sister, and how they ended up at that abandoned hospital.
Yeah, I agree about the loose ends! The images from the first episode, of Taro's sister laying on the bed, were so striking that I hope that theme of the show isn't just glossed over. I keep being struck with how short the epis seem when you're watching them.

I really hope that Taro dressed as a girl isn't just some attempt at slapstick humor. The show has been too sophisticated thus far to fall into that, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that it'll be more than that.

All in all, this series is just too short for what they have going. I'm with ImTakes, some OVA's would be cool.

Taro-kun dressed up as a girl.. that will be interesting to see! Poor guy but I think at this point he will do anything to save Miyako-chan. I'm also happy to see that Makoto is coming through for his friends, hopefully his mom will be OK without him around.. I wonder though if we will ever see who really kidnapped Taro and his sister, and how they ended up at that abandoned hospital.
