description

Category: TV
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Supernatural
Year: 2007
Studio: Feel

The protagonist, Yoshiyuki Sakurai, was born when Sakura Yoshino, weary of being alone for so long, wished upon a prototype artificial wish-granting magical sakura tree for a family. Similar to its predecessor, the story takes place on the same island, Hatsunejima, in Japan, and set fifty-three years after the original anime. The Asakura sisters are the granddaughters of Junichi Asakura and Nemu Asakura from the first Da Capo. Sakura Yoshino and Junichi are the only returning characters, and Nemu is the only other character to be mentioned by name.

Last two episodes reminded me of the endings from Final Fantasy X and X-2. If you played the games, you'll know what I mean.

Man, I was hoping for some lip action between Otome and Yoshi, but nothing, just a handshake, wtf.

If there's one thing that Da Capo II failed, it was the lack of screen time for Nanaka!!!

They gave her like 5 minutes of screen time in the entire 2 seasons (okay may be a little more and discounting OP and ED sequences) but still compared to her 50 years older grandmother, Kotori, they make her look like a fool

All in all, this was probably by far the best season of Da Capo out of all 4. Far more dramatic than the other 3 and a better paced story. Finally they do something right...well to some degree I guess...waiting for xvids~

I liked this season much more than the first DCII season last year, especially the last few episodes which were filled with drama. Even though I can't shake the feeling that Circus stole the idea of people gradually forgetting about Yoshiyuki from One: Kagayaku Kisetsu e, I know there's nothing to base this one, but it still made me a little peeved to notice the similarities (especially since Da Capo was a direct result of Kanon and what it did to the visual novel world).

But damn did Da Capo live up to its reputation. I didn't watch the first anime seasons for the first Da Capo, but I assume it's of the same style. To me, Da Capo is kind of cheesy, but they do do things right a lot of the time.

Wow, this 2nd season completely gave the robot girl the boot.

Well, besides that, the ending was just ok. The last episode just didn't feel very satisfying. Though i really did like the previous episodes of this season.

Just finished the last episode and I thought it was a great ending to the series.
Probably couldve made it alittle more of an emotional reunion with Yume and Otome, and wouldve been better if Yoshiyuki saw everyone again at the end but I still loved it. I think DC II SS is the best Da capo season of the Da capo series itself.

I think that I would like the ending where everyone forgets Yoshiyuki better since it would be a little more dramatic. And if they decided to make a happy ending they should have at least  brought back Sakura and Junnichi.

are they going to make a da capo iii? i think that they can find something more to add to the story. those 13 episodes weren't enough for da capo ii s1 and s2.

It depends if Circus decides to make a Da Capo III game. How likely is it? I have no idea.
