This anime is based on a (non-adult) PS2 dating game, ”Kimi Kiss”. The goal of the game is that the protagonist (the player) becomes friends with a girl in a month. Different from the game, the anime is drawn from the perspective of three characters, Sanada Koichi, Aihara Kazuki, and Mizusawa Mao.

During spring break, while Koichi makes himself comfortable at home, a beautiful girl suddenly comes in. She acts as if it were her house and even begins to take a shower. To his surprise, she was Mao, his childhood friend. She came back to Japan after 2 years absence from France. Since Mao in his memory was an unsophisticated girl always wearing tick glasses, he is surprised that she has become so beautiful.

i realize i'm like 2 years behind on this thread lmao....but that was kind of annoying the way the story played out ....

mao was just annoying with her fixation on kouichi (who is a grade A pussy btw and deserves to get his ass kicked by hoshino), kai was annoying the way he just took all that crap from mao and was way too good natured about it, kouichi, like i said, is just an annoying fag, hoshino took it to well (she's too good for the damn fag anyways... so good riddance), sakino took it too well (she deserved way better but i also liked futami so that was a tough one for me), & ahira was a clueless loser...

the ending was stupid ( i especially hated the part when kouichi was all " i'm sorry. I love mao neechan' she should have kicked the damn fag in his nuts at that point >.<)....

i know they're not actual sibs but still...i really don't understand this japanese obsession with incest-like themes...even though i knew the damn story was gonna bring mao & kouichi together in the end, i still rooted for hoshino all the way til the end...like i said tho, both kai and hoshino are too god for the mao/kouichi combo anyways...so good riddance

i give this crap 5/10 (if i didn't like hoshino, sakino, & futami, it would have received 2/10 from me (i've watched a LOT of slice of life animes and this one was by far the most annoying....mostly thanks to Mao & Kouichi)

I'm rather late coming to this discussion: I just finished watching KimiKiss today after a five day marathon of viewing. I originally downloaded one episode about 9 months ago but at the time it looked like some superficial story which was just an excuse to parade a lineup of cute girls so I dropped it, but a few days ago I took a second look at that episode and decided it might after all be pleasant to watch what I took to be a laid back slice of life story about developing relationships so I started d/l'ing more episodes....

Five days on I've reached the end and the whole thing was just so different from what I was expecting! Although it kept the realistic slice of life feeling it developed into a great tragic romance with a bittersweet ending; let's see, we end up with two happy (if tearful) couples and three broken hearts.

Really, once the cats cradle of romantic entanglements started to form there was no way to avoid this kind of ending I think, in making it bittersweet they retained the true to life feeling, to do otherwise would have been trite.

For me it was unexpected that the stalwart and mature figure of Mao, with her supercool boyfriend, would be the one who caused everything to unravel, destroying first her own relationship and then Kouichi's. I really liked her character though. But I was sad that Sakino didn't have a more central role, for me she was the real belle of the series, she was the fittest girl in both senses of the word! At least she managed to steal a kiss from Kazuki at the end though.

I was also impressed by the maturity of Kai who I thought treated Kouichi very well, he was a man of few words but those few words were just right, as were his silences, like when Kouichi asks him why he and Mao broke up: he could have said "because of you", or he could have said "you should ask Mao" but instead he walked away. It was the Zen answer which unasks the question.

The relatively slow pacing means I don't think the series has much rewatchability appeal, but the story was certainly strong enough to keep me going during the huge two-day 4GB download ordeal (I didn't even have 4GB of space on my disk and had to archive a bunch of stuff to make room for it).

Incidentally I liked the special, it was a bit of light relief after the heaviness of the final few episodes of the series, a bit like the Air summer specials which served a similar purpose.

hehe the sister and her friend with the kero kero dolls are still hilarious Ahh Juliet-sama, shall we have another parting kiss. Episode overall was pretty funny.  Megumi stalking all the guys in the series makes for some fun times and her reactions are simply hilarious, although I have to say, sensei in front of the school was probably the funniest part of the episode.

Them not playing Hiragi & Megumi angle made it a little dull. And after all this time my hatred for Mao hasn't wavered.

It is still all about Futami..

I just finished watching the one-off DVD only episode focusing on the stern Megumi Kuryuu and must say that it was fairly bland and boring like the original series, perhaps, this episode try to be funny but ended up being a stupid cliched events that set off to an open ending. But it was kinda nice to see Mao again.

This anime leaves a satisfying feeling, despite not satisfying all the girls (and Kai) . BUT, the sudden romance between Mao and Kouichi, and the short confession scene of Sakino, made the ending a little lacking. However, I did like the possibility of a new romance between Kuryuu (the class president I think) and Hiiragi. He's a late bloomer  . Overall, I like it. It was more laid-back then other romance animes.

Well, this series was okay but not great....it didn't run under a typical romance drama layout....it was different...kinda done in an old-fashioned way....I guess but I'm kinda happy its all over now...can't wait for that DVD only episode.

Well isn't that a good reason to like it more? It's different than the norm now so that's a good reason to like it more. I don't wanna be watching the same things over and over again, you know?

I wish they got Kouichi and Mao together a little earlier than the last episode. It felt too sudden and maybe even a little rushed.

And I wanna see the DVD only ep too.

The brother-sister thing....well....its mainly out of respect to the older one....they're just friends...who have finally became lovers. I would have liked to have seen more love-love interaction between Mao and Kouichi....most of the time it was just seeing Mao's "jealous" actions like the change of her face and her hands gripping....there was an awful lot of that in this series....the actions she does out of jealous...is only done so that most of the time she is the only one aware....Kai is an exception. Well, this series was okay but not great....it didn't run under a typical romance drama layout....it was different...kinda done in an old-fashioned way....I guess but I'm kinda happy its all over now...can't wait for that DVD only episode.

Yeah so I finally finished it. It kinda made me angry that nothing really happened with Kazuki and Sakino though. I liked her character better than Eriko since she kinda lived a lie until the end. The Kouichi and Mao ending was nice but I think it would have been better if they stayed separate. The whole basically brother sister thing kinda made it kinda weird but it was still good anyways.

I'd give it an 8 out of 10 but I don't think I'll watch it again. Maybe I should make a watched list and add it to that so I can remember it. Good idea!
