Wasn't an old season per say. This series is a spinoff of Kotetsu Zieg, which in a sense you could call it a "pre-season"

Judging from there are barely any discussion about this anime (plus a few other super robo anime before), I guess most the non-Asian anime viewers are more into the moé (萌え aka cute girls) shows than (燃え aka hot-blooded) shows...
