The story takes place in Ayanagi City facing the Sea of Japan. It is a future oriented city recovered from the disaster, “Simultaneous Multiple Languish Syndrome”. A high school student, Kazato Shin (17 years old), and his little brother, Jun (14 years old), meet their bother Ryo, who is the chief of the police in Ayanagi City although he is young (28 years old), after an interval of 10 years.

In those days, strange events occur in Ayanagi City; sudden disappearance of all the crews of a submarine, “Languish Syndrome” after 10 years interval, “Inside out dead bodies case” – students are killed and turned into miserable figures. Ryo chases the organization lurks in a series of the events. On the other hand, because Shin is involved in the events, he materializes a grotesque featured “Persona”. Now that, the fate of the brothers begins to change…

Totally agree, I mean first 13 ep didn't have anything real susbstanital the it was fairly good until 25 and the last ep just felt like it was rushed and I really didn't think they should have ended in such a strange way but like you said overall it was enjoyable and they had some ties with the Persona games as well which was great.

Could have been a lot better but it was what it was , we can just live with it

well i liked it overall! i wanted to watch this cause imma big fan of the persona games. maybe if u played the game you'd appreciate the series more =P , i didnt feel like it was rushed in the ending, wat i did was epi per epi i spent time to understand it well, most of it hahaha. OH and i loved the music from the series! LOL

Oh well. I tried so hard to give this series the benefit of the doubt. It held so much promise but for some reason spent more time animating feathers than actually getting down to the nitty gritty. The whole thing was far too vague to follow. The personas themselves were so rarely featured, and when they were used it was hard to get an idea about how they looked. I don't understand how over 26 episodes they managed to leave so much unexplained, and with so little action. Even with Heroic Age we got immense battles and some story/character development. This was all whimsical. Is it me or are series like Claymore too rare nowadays?! That got so much into 26 episodes compared to this.

It's not that I didn't enjoy this, it's just that I didn't really enjoy it that much either. Less feathers, less whale-talk, some more fights and some proper emotional scenes. It's called drama. We just got blah-blah.

I have to agree. I feel still confused about what exactly was going on. The whole ending felt very rushed, like they had to cut large portions out to complete it in 26 episodes. They started out fine, explaining a lot, I am wondering why they chose to cram the last half/quarter of the series.

well sry but rants are always kinda vague. i'm not sure how you would define proper or any other vague terms you used in your earlier posts to basically criticize this series without comparison to perhaps other series or by any other objective means i can't even think of. i just finished the last episode and personally i liked the series esp. the elder brother.. but that's just my personal opinion, and it hardly matters or makes sense without knowledge of how it may have resonated with something i experienced personally in real life, or perhaps i just recognized a segment of superb directing technique in the last few episodes that resembles what i have seen in some other very decent titles. sparing all the details as i am kind of sapped right now like i usually am after finishing 26 episodes in 1 day, my gut reaction is again i liked this series, esp. the ending very much. so perhaps without rant but some objective observation/analysis/comparison or any other method not mentioned but could in fact be helpful in bringing in an actual topic, where a conversation can even begin.. any thoughts?

Alright so episode 23 was supposed to be the "big tear jerker" episode but there was one major flaw. I think throughout the entire series Shin might have talked to Morimoto a handful of times. Okay, I will give them a bit more when you factor in the really good Morimoto shadow pulling addiction episode.

So I'm sitting there as she is being very vague about what is happening to her and thinking are you going to confess now? It's not like she was going to have anymore opportunities seeing that she was about to die or w/e androids do maybe malfunction lol. It was a bit sad when she stated she didn't want to lose any memories of her friends now and then rested her head on Shin's shoulder. Talk about right on cue when he gets the mystery phone call (wtf called him btw?) and realizes she is sleeping for the the long haul this time.

So it was a decent episode but next time you wanna have a tear jerker scene at least build up a proper bond between the characters and I could sympathize a bit more. Maybe let a little tear fall from the corner of my eye and go Morimoto NOOOOOOO! XD

I have to say I'm not entirely for sure I like the direction this anime has gone the last 8-10 episodes. At one point it looked very promising but it offers more confusion than it does a steady plot in my opinion. I have to also say that I was highly disappointed in the battle sequences in episode 22. Half of the time it's hard to tell who's persona is doing the attacking and the fight seemed too easily resolved. In the next scene Jun is running away again and I can't really make heads or tails of what is going on.

The only thing that I was fully clear on was that Morimoto was actually a cyborg and that she's been being used by the Marebito (she was the one who killed the others in the karaoke room in the earlier episodes?!) With 4 more episodes left I wonder where they're going with the this? Somebody please explain to us wtf are the brothers chillin at the whale???

The 10 years ago stuff refers to the storyline in the video game. I guess the writers are hoping you played it and are knowledgeable enough for them to do the anime without a lot of backstory.
