My-Otome 0~S.ifr~ (舞-乙HiME 0~S.ifr~, Mai-Otome 0 Shifuru?) is an anime OVA produced by Sunrise and directed by Hisayuki Hirokazu, the former My-Otome character designer. It is a prequel to the My-Otome TV series. The first episode was released on February 22, 2008 in Japanese DVD.

"Sifr" (صفر) is the Arabic word for the number 0 (zero). It is also the name of a main character, Sifr Fran.

In the promotional teaser trailer for My-Otome 0, included in episode 4 of the My-Otome Zwei OVA, the title was written as My-Otome S.ifl (舞-乙HiME S.ifl, My-Otome S.ifl?). However, the spelling "S.ifr" is consistent in all other sources.

In contrast to all previous shows in the Hime series, the music for S.ifr was not written by Kajiura Yuki.

I am not sure whose mother (of the two) raised Arika, but I figured that hint was more of a confirmation that he is Arika's father. Though I didn't need that hint, lol.

I am slightly leaning towards it being Rena's mother because he is clearly from the Black Valley, so it is reasonable to assume that his family would live there. In that case, if Arika was raised by his mother, she would be from the Black Valley. But she isn't, and Rena hints that she is from the country, though I don't remember if she mentions where, so that all fits together pretty well.

I kinda feel like I am reading way too much into this OVA, lol.

riiight...so it's only a mere coincidence that the personality of Shiro and Arika are so alike, and they both got the habit of saying grandma says this, grandma says that. Yea, I am SURE Sunrise dropped the hint that for NO REASON at all.

And even if Yumemiya was really Rena's original surname/family name, that's nothing wrong with Arika taking her mother's surname instead of his father, considering either Rena is higher in status than whoever the father is, or may be she was never legitimately married.

Lol, just watched every episode of this OVA yesterday... I've gotta agree with that the action was great! But this one is still a bit dissapointing in storyline (somewhat like Zwei was -.-... And about the Yumemiya/Sayers talk, she said her name was Yumemiya BEFORE she met Shiro, so you guys get the point, it's probably her mothers surname. And Arikas grandma is not Shiro's grandma <.<;

What's really odd is that Rena gave Nina the Blue Sky Saphire, I mean it was Nina in that basket thingy and not Arika. Normally you'd think that she'd give it to her own daughter -.-;

Lastly, I'm really surprised by the fact that no one has noticed that Raquel is identical to Mayo from Mai-HiME Destiny, despite the series being mentioned alot of times -.-;

A very typical Sunrise/Mai-Otome ending...the awesome thing about this episode is we got to see where the Blue Sky Sapphire originated as well as Lena summon her robe and kick every single otome....though the way she killed that android otome was rather dumb to some extent. However, when things stayed dead, they did and that was good.

I don't know what kind of wrong idea you are getting...

Sifr is the princess of Windbloom so that probably make her the daughter of the king, an heir who would become the future queen.

As for the family name of Yumemiya, it mostly like is the family name of Shiro, which they conveniently left out He's Arika's father if you still haven't figured out by now from his personality and the way he talks. It makes me wonder what happened to him in the Otome series...Arika was apparently brought up by his grandma...

Although the OVA series ended at a happy note, it's a shame that the happy times don't last, as we already know Lena would one day die protecting the 'princess', who is probably Sifr's daughter.

But it wasn't half bad. It's always fun to see an Otome kick ass in her stripperific Robe.
