Plot:

Thousand years before, Enka, the destroying god, dies with the word that its 'child' will destroy the world. A Thousands years later, some people (and non-human creatures) who have potential of being the children of Enka are found. They participate to the 'Peaceful Family Project', in order to find out who the real child of Enka is, and also to teach him or her about the love of family and stop it from destroying the world.

Summary:

The novels depicts the not-so-normal life of a “family” that includes a catgirl “mother,” a lion “son,” a living land-combat android weapon “son,” a jellyfish-like otherworldly “daughter,” and a hapless 27-year-old military officer as their “father.” This motley “family” was assembled as part of the Imperial Japanese Anti-Paranormal Phenomena Section’s Special Operations Forces to save Earth in 2063.

hmm, oh yeah, the girl was poor and basically starving. that rings a bell. But i kinda wonder, why no1 asked her about her host, after they realized she is just a being of energy.

She is mentioned, but I think since she migh tof died and Kyouka saved her in the end. Also, I think she's nothing more then an empty shell if you ask me.

is Kyouka's host brain dead?

Never did get to see what she acts like without an alien or Kyouka controling her... Thats 1 thing that always bugged me, who was the little girl Kyouka possessed.

Well I managed to see the last 4 episodes at once today. I almost forgot about this seires. I have to say how they tied in Gekka's background along wiht Kyouka's was pretty good. Also about episode 24 they kind of pulled an alternate ending setup there. I wasn't expecting it to go into that direction. Never the less Gekka's human form is awsome no matter which way you look at it, and yes Yuuka had her moments to since that loli did a good job keeping the series together though. And finally it was interesting to see that pirate girl comming back for the last 2 episodes as well. Not only that, but I think I know who was behind all of this as well. It was Yuuka's eldest sister if I remember correctly now. I mean that's who she looked like though.

Yea, I got agree that Yuuka is an awesome loli. Chika just reminded me of Rozen Maiden the first time I saw her. I think Kyouka's pretty cute with her little Kyoukas too. Lol.

Overall I think Kyouran Kazoku Nikki was really crazy but fun to watch. Somehow I really like the part of the OP where all the little Kyoukas fall from the sky. The joy within all the eccentricity. XD

I still prefer Yuuka over all....followed by Chika, then Gekka. Yuuka is an awesome loli, Chika has Suigintou cosplay, and Gekka is awesome after that

I finally had time to watch the last two episodes . Yes, it was a good finish to the series. Kyouka still was as good as ever (somehow she always has an answer to everything..How can she think with all the noise she makes ). The last episode did lack one of the most important things to my opinion. Sure they made it clear that they are a family but what about Ouka and Kyouka? Nothing that looked like they are a couple. Somehow i found that to be disappointing . The makers hinted that Kyouka liked Ouka in the episode when he was ill but now nothing to finish that part. If the makers just added a kiss between them (or better said made Kyouka force one on Ouka ) in one of the possible scenes (which were plenty) it would have been great. Now just a disappointment at that part
In all it still was an enjoyable series so if they make a second season i think i'll watch it

Translator has his/her hands full with shows from Eclipse as well, namely Clannad. Translator of Static-Subs probably has the most work to do compared to majority of the other staff.

From what I can tell by looking at their site, Static Subs hasn't dropped the show, but it looks like it will be a while before someone subs the last two episodes.
