For four decades, Golgo 13 has been the world's greatest assassin for hire. His real name and nationality are unknown; however, his legend is hailed everywhere. Golgo 13 never fails a job, and never sees his clients again, unless, they try and betray him...

Golgo 13 is a mysterious man of undetermined origin. It's rumored that he is at least part Japanese. He will take any assignment from anyone; for the right price. He will always fulfill his contracts, even if he has two or more opposing contracts at the same time. He is an uncanny sharpshooter, capable of lethal trick shooting. He current only holds one missed shot. His weapon of choice: a scoped M-16 rifle for his assassinations.

Despite being amoral, Golgo 13 takes up assignments that work with his own ethical logic. His targets are usually criminals and assassins who partially deserve what they get.

Whoa, it's been a long time.

Maybe Minorin dropping a Golgo joke in Toradora 20 inspired subbers to get back on this.

Truth be told, I was getting tired of the repetitive formula too when the show was dropped, but the break in between made me a little nostalgic for my old murder of the week fix. But if anyone expects the show to be any different since the last release came out, they put those thoughts aside. Golgo once again shows his ungodly marksmanship and his unwavering coldheartedness leaving a sexy young wife in tears.

Maybe in another five months I'll be ready to see another episode.

i just started watching this anime...i thought wow, this guy is so cool, doesnt even break a sweat while doing "impossible shot" based assassin mission~ but after 11 or 12 episodes its still the same plot and stand alone episodes... i wanna see this guy sweat like a pig~ d@mn it... to add some thrill...whats the point in showing him being so good, so smooth in doing his missions when we already know that... 50 episodes??? thats alot of stand alone episodes lol...

So ol' Golgo gets some female action again, a prostitute who lets out that he's a one position man: Girl on top and nothing else. I guess no one can sneak up behind you from under the bed.
so the hopes of a long running competitor is quickly dashed.

Ah....too bad for us, eh my friend? I was hoping to try and continue the series, but the material is getting a bit thin....still, I want to see the prostitue and Golgo, and see her "austute observation" about Golgo's well, penchant for being so laid back....interesting indeed. While reading your commentary about a possible competitor....and then....ZIP>>>> Duke whips out a knife..ah..my hopes were dashed....

Cleaning up yet another CIA mess, Golgo comes across someone who could be the perfect antagonist to him. He uses the same tactics and stratagems as Golgo and and appears to have the requisite skills to match. And to perfect the negative image role, he carries a Kalashnikov based sniper rifle, polar opposite of Golgo' favored M-16. But alas, though he he was a match when it came to a quick draw rifle duel, he couldn't avoid Golgo's skills at throwing a knife, and so the hopes of a long running competitor is quickly dashed.

As long as he gets $3 million why not?

I know Golgo 13 is often outlandish but episode 11 really takes the biscuit!
Don't cry Yaya we all know Golgo 13 is a mercenary. Don't have high expectations and you won't be disappointed.

Ah! Dear monsta-san! My tears dried up long ago, after seeing Duke, take out an All American, just because the poor guy's team mate, was a rotten egg. I have seen the reality of just who Golgo 13 is...an empty, desolate, cold, hard enclosed, empty tomb, of a man. Gee.....what was he like as child or as a baby? Did he ever smile? Was he always pinch faced? Did he go to his High School Prom? Let's see if we get a flash back to his days when he shone in the sun.....that would be something.

So what's next, Is he going to start shooting babies?

I know Golgo 13 is often outlandish but episode 11 really takes the biscuit! I'm finding it hard to believe that someone as notorious as Golgo 13 could be allowed to walk so freely. Why did they let him into the airport? How did he escape? I know details... They don't matter in this series! As usual his shot was ridiculous...

Don't cry Yaya we all know Golgo 13 is a mercenary. Don't have high expectations and you won't be disappointed. Yes we never actually saw him make the kill but destroying the evidence at the end... Says it all really. If he were innocent there would be no need to pull of that stunt. I suppose he could have hired someone to take that shot... Ah but the shot is "impossible" and only Golgo 13 could make that shot!!! (user posted image)

I'm beginning to see a pattern here...

Oh I forgot. Why did they need to make up an excuse about Cholera to keep him in the Hospital when Duke Tougo has outstanding warrants for rape, assault, escape, and possibly murder in Alaska?

True, he's an assassin, still, it was not hard to think he was one with a little, tiny, heart of gold. Ah! Who was I kidding? Anyway, the writers played those of us, who got caught up in that false hope, they played us good. As far as the Cholera scenario, well, it smacked of sheer desperation and fantasy, on the Police Chief's part....do you not recall when the Medical Director of said hospital, made some comment about Golgo, being some health expert? While the man just lays there? And then the other silly part was his "so-called" escaping, to shoot at that giant CSI screen, when he was on the verge of being identified. Ah! Too much....anyway let's see what future episodes bring.... I mean one thing that I find silly about this anime, everyone seems to know who he is and why he's wanted....but he still never gets caught...and if he does, he is always set free on some technicality....hell.
I think it would be something if Golgo, was found innocent, of all charges, on this one...and he really was a Football fan just taking pictures...yeah, right!

He's an assassin.
What did you expect he would do?
If he wanted to kill only bad people, he might as well join some secret service.
He's not running a charity or anything like that.
Even Agent 47 from hitman game killed a few good people.
That's what I love about assassins.
Their ability to not let conscience get in the way.

I agree with you. I felt quite a bit of disappointment too to see it proved that he will kill anybody for money, not just in the football one, but in the previous one too. His target was a guy who wanted to expose the illegal actions of the CIA and he killed a presumably innocent helicopter crew to do it. I thought he had at least some professional ethics, but I guess that isn't the case. So what's next, Is he going to start shooting babies?

I found the football sequences amusingly bad. It just did not quite look right and the commentary was LOL! "He has the ball and he's running with it."

On a technical note, it was nice to see his rationale for favoring M-16 explained with an object lesson against his adversary sniper. It gives him the ability to fight well at close range while his god-like sniping abilities make up for it's deficiencies at longer distances.

Oh I forgot. Why did they need to make up an excuse about Cholera to keep him in the Hospital when Duke Tougo has outstanding warrants for rape, assault, escape, and possibly murder in Alaska?
