"Let’s begin a new myth, sweet battles, and a miraculous love story…" declares a man on the top of a building in New Tokyo in 2020.

It is a signal of the start of the Sekirei Project. 108 beautiful fighters called Sekirei are dispatched to the world to seek Ashikaba, their masters, in order to be the last surviving Sekirei and realize his or her dream.

Sabashi Minato is a high school graduate who failed his college exams last year. He is a loser; he doesn't have any goals nor does he have any friends, let alone a girlfriend. He failed all his exams this year, too. On his way home, a beautiful girl suddenly falls from the sky. Her name is Yui. She identifies herself as one of the Sekirei and has chosen Minato as her Ashikabi, her fated partner.

Finally the second season. Let's see how he is going to get more sekirei on his side and how he is going to keep the domestic troubles between them to a minimum

I just watched the OVA......it was great to remind myself of Sekirei.....I should really get back to reading the manga. Ku-chan's facial expressions, "training" and in general all her antics were funny and extremely kawaii that it almost brought the lolicon out of me.

I believe the 2nd season aka Sekirei ~Pure Engagement~ is coming Jan 2010 but I'm not entirely sure though......I guess we will have to wait and see. If its the not the case then its April 2010.

Well from the looks of things we got a preview of the second season... at least I think it's about the second season though. Although of course we're going to be pretty much be picking up where we last left off. A little while after the Escape from the Capital. Although it could be right after the OVA as well, so either way.

do we have any news about a possible 2nd season yet? I sorta miss the show still and it's kinda frustrating waiting for the anime to catch upto even the few eissues I read ahead.

Well they might have enough to go with to do a few of the battle royales for certain items that are needed to finish this twisted game. Well that and how his harem tends to be sort of agressive with him at times. Although are you trying to see if they will go longer then the 12/13 episode season they did last time or what?

Has the Manga really progressed enough to give them the material for a second season? Maybe after the current arc is done it will seem like it but IMO the story has really been progressing slowly irregardless of the pace of releases.

My guess the manga is published in the bi-weekly magazines instead of the weekly versions. Either that or it's monthly depending on how the author is doing with the storyline.

Anyways it's just as I thought about them doing a second season. Although now I kind of wonder how they are going to work with the massive "Censorship problems" in anime that has been comming out as of late.

I agree with you Killer Ossi

This is great news i loved this series and the manga (when it comes out)

For the life of me I can't understand a manga being this popular and coming out so irregularly

Thats good news.
Finally a second season, but would prefer it if they would hurry up with the manga, its so damn slow.
