It started out nice, I agree about the fact that the ending was sad... It was to be expected(they did say only mages would get that disease, so no magic cure is known).
It was nice they at least showed her and Gota married and her family there. It would have been nice if she would have given a child to him, to soon I say to just kill her. Though I remember the fact they said her father didn't survive his first whatever it was(forgot the name).

ah man, after watching Full Moon wo Sagashite(2nd Time), CLANNAD ~After Story~ up to 21... This has just bummed me out. Still a good series, will have to re-watch the 1st one and then this one. The first didn't have romance IMO, ANY WHO... JAANE~

So the series is finally finished. Aside from the huge drop in animation quality in the final episode, The final episode was really well done.  I'm still confused as to how Sora died, even with a health problem that we saw in episode 9 and 10.  Very dramatic ending and clearly superior to the original 2003 series.  I feel sorry for Gouta trying to make Sora live on to the point where it seems like he even goes crazy.

Everything seemed so sudden in the final episode.  I expected Sora to die since I was hoping they wouldn't pass off her health problem as something random that occurred in the series.  However, I felt it was poorly executed since the whole "vision" that she created with here in a wedding dress made it very hard to follow.  Took me two or three rewinds until I could actually get what was going on.

Nevertheless, a fitting end to a very fine series.  Score: 8/10

QUOTE (GERBER @ Oct 23 2008, 04:20 PM)
Does anyone know If AnimeYuki & Conclave dropped this or are stalled with translating? I thought there was a season before this one, so was goin to wait(from watching until I found the second season cause I saw the first) to see cause I heard this was the third season to the anime. Found out recently it was just a manga, so Thanx if anyone helps, JAANE~

I doubt they dropped (haven't heard they did), but like Anime-Kraze, they're a relatively slow group at subbing this.

-EDIT-
Thanx Kit-Tsukasa, I went to the Conclave irc room and asked, but they kicked me out
The Anime Yuki one had no one there so I got no answer. Conclave must be busy with The Gundam 00 2nd season, Thanx Again

This left me with two feelings

1 They killed her off cause they wanted to end it quickly for whatever reason.

2. The creator was trying to get some point across by not having it be a happy ending... I should say not a completly happy ending. I was glad that the one couple ended up together but still not sure how i feel about them killing her so easily.

somehow I feel like she should still be alive.

Yeah, I cried my eyes out at this one. So sad;; I wanted Gota to try to save her too, but they were all just resigned to the fact that she couldn't be helped I guess. To be fair at the beginning of the show they all learn that you can't bring someone back to life.

Honestly I was pissed at Sora's father. Basically Sora trained to be able to do that for him and gives her life in order to give his spirit happiness? What the hell. Her father sucks. He should be trying to save her!

I did feel ok with it at the end though when Gota comes to the tree and shows her the seas, it was sweet. He just got hotter and hotter as the season goes along! Somehow the sweet ending with all of her friends and Gota made it seem a little better, because you could see the impact she had despite her short life and you knew that she had lived her life to the fullest.

Wah I was half expecting Gota to do something to save Sora. What a sad ending. Over all, the series was rather decent though. The author must visit children's hospitals or something along that lines cause the way he depicted Sora is what you see a lot in those sort of situations. The child knows and understands but still wants to have fun while they can.

Sigh, what a total letdown. If mages can't fix heart disease then wtf are they good for? They can manipulate time and space. Time being the comb that was destroyed and viewing alternate time lines where sora got married and her father was there. Space being locks and dolphins. But they can't cure Sora! I call BS. I also feel cheated. I wish they would have ended the show at the episode where sora fell in love at the beach. =.....(

Exactly my words, motormind. I couldn't stop niagra falls from flowing for the last two episodes. Series started out with some sparkle and pizazz, and ended with a very sad whimper. '(;_;)'

I haven't been this depressed since Now and Then, Here and There.

*Off-topic: Why is there no emote for weeping?

So after all that happened, Sora just goes back to Biei and dies ?? I somehow feel cheated. This is not a "curve ball" anymore, but a cheap ploy to evoke tears. Which it did, by the way--I haven't felt so sad about an anime series since I watched AIR.
