This series is an interesting spin on the detective genre. Overall, I found its style was rather unique. I enjoyed watching something that was quite different from most other anime I have seen recently.

The first thing that drew me in was the music and the James Bondesque opening. After that it was Ryoko Yakushiji's indomitable spirit and Junichiro Izumida's long suffering air that kept me watching.

There are days when I wish that I could blaze a trail of destruction through obstacles that hinder me but, alas, I do not possess Ryoko's enviable and truly awe inspiring skills. Ryoko is certainly a force to be reckoned with.

While all the threads of the plot were drawn together at the end there is certainly a possibility of a second season. I hope that this is the case.

It seems that this series has been a bit of a sleeper. In my opinion it's definitely worth a look.

I really want to read the manga and novels....anyone know where I could get it ??

I wouldn't actually mind buying them...but it seems they aren't licensed....so I've got no chance at the moment.

Amazon.jp ships to the US as long as it's not electronics/pron.

As for scanslations, I've heard nothing on it, but I'm not looking too hard ATM. =x

Oh yeah....I heard an interesting thing that at the end credits it has Izumida's calendar with 5th January 2009 circled....and there's speculation that this will be date for the premier of the second season.

Nice spot! I'm treating that as fact from here on out and expecting the Universe to follow suit.

I just watched episode 13 and I just absolutely love this series...its 10/10!! XDD

I really wish that this series gets a second season...it reminded me of Black Lagoon is some weird way which made me kinda attached to it.

Good ending resolving the current situation well while setting up season two (please) with the romantic rivalry between Ryoko and Monami, and the inevitable return of another Ruriko Isurugi. I think it would have been better to watch 12&13 together since "notice me Izumida" was pretty much the punchline for the show.

I loved reaction shots of all the people who had tried to screw her during her press conference where she ever-so subtly reasserted her position of power. I also loved Yukiko going crazy with the machine guns. And of course the maids driving the tank, is there anything they can't do? The only thing I didn't like was Izumida's exasperated sigh when asked to put suntan lotion on Ryoko. Some impositions just should not be complained about.

I like the romantic tension kinda between the two lead character. reminds me of rock and levy~

It does in a way but Levy doesn't admit to her growing feelings to Rock, whereas, Ryoko is trying her best so that Izumida will notice eventually but both males are slow and dense but I think Izumida is MUCH MORE DENSER than Rock, despite Rock's name/nickname.

im catching up to this series too. i was gonna wait until its finished and do a marathon but i was bored with the other animes.

im curious if they gonna pick up another season for this anime.

the stand alone style of this anime is pretty decent, surprisingly good despite they finish the story in one episode. well written. the best "stand alone" episodes ive seen. i like the romantic tension kinda between the two lead character. reminds me of rock and levy~

I do agree that this is easily one of the best series from summer 08, even though the thread doesn't get much love. Haven't watched 12 yet, but I will probably a bit later tonight.

I just saw episode 12, its not just awesome......its the best series that started at July 2008, better than Natsume in my opinion, despite being different genres.

Ryoko is sooo kawaii.....Izumida open your eyes and NOTICE HER DAMMIT!!! XD

Can't wait for episode 13....this series deserves a 2nd season.

Also, look out for Tytania the anime premiering on the 9th Oct, which is also done by the novelist and mangaka of Yakushiji Ryoko no Kaiki Jikenbo.

BTW, the final episode aired today and really hope we can have an early subbed release instead of waiting for a week again.
