after finished watching this series,i give 9.5/10 for its outstanding music...with full emotional 's inserted song,OP/ED,soundtrack.The story was great.

This show is so underrated...it seem so for me at begining after had watched the episode 1(with all the characters killed by some unknown girl..).after watched it,i just felt that i had to change my view...the plot is well done and especially the character development...

if anyone look for some epic plot and story...i would strongly recommended this series.

i heard this series is just prelude to original manga adaption -ga rei.It seem the story still left unfinished in the last episode of anime...so i plan to watch its manga.

In the end,i really felt very sad for what YOMI had gone through from the begining until the end.

Alright so as my final show for 2008 I decided to save the final episode until now. Episode 12 was great, but not fantastic. There were a few things I didn't like. The first being Yomi. She's not dead in the manga when it starts...however they made it look like she died entirely here and won't come back.  This will make it really hard to tie in if they plan on doing a sequel that adapts the manga, which I hope they still do regardless.
The second mistake was Michael the 13th. Did Kagura give Ken Michael the 13th or the 12th? She had the 13th in this episode, but Ken had the 12th. Where did that come back from after losing it underground....or did Michael make another 12th? If he did, it made the 13th look like a waste...
The third was the previous director and Kiri...I THOUGHT THEY DIED! They should have stayed dead like one of the Nabuu brothers.
Other than those pieces it was nicely done for the most part. I look forward to the DVD releases. It's such a shame that this was an underrated series along with the manga. The fight scenes were nicely done and music was outstanding. This series was up beat from the very beginning aside from the throwaway cast. If I were to choose, this is definitely the 2008 series to watch. Solid plot, acceptable animation, art, and music, great character development, and enjoyment to the max. 9.5/10!!!

EDIT: Did anyone else think that Kagura looked amazing in the final minute of the show before the credits? If they kept that artwork while adapting the manga...I'd give the art a 9 or 10/10

Really liked this anime ^^ Full of emotions! and I liked it how they conected a bit with the manga in the end.

I have a question though; The manga is on break right now or what? No new chapters since October 2008

Will it get back on track anytime soon? Does anyone know?


PS: HAPPY NEW 2009 EVERYONE! ( I know it's not new year in USA yet, but here in Sweden it is) DS.

Good ending to a great series. Kagura's switch from not being able to kill Yomi to being able to do so was a bit abrupt. What, it's OK just 'cause Noriyuki said so? A little flat, but I guess that's fine, though I'll just imagine there was a deeper inner dialog that wasn't shown. Also, I guess they didn't want to drop any more Manga spoilers then they had to, but I would have liked to have seen how Yomi went from corporeal death to the pure spectre that gets finished off in the Manga.


Nice little flash forward at the end of the episode to older Kagura with Ken-chan from chapter 3 of the Manga!

Aero Subs subbed all the uncut versions (or at least for episode 1) I'm just absolutely delighted that AnimeYoshi is subbing the DVDs.....I'm rewatching the entire series just because of that....yeah they editted the fact that Natsuki's head falls off in AnimeYoshi's original version...fixed in the uncut broadcast released by Aero and the DVD version released yesterday by AnimeYoshi

Yomi = <3 she won my ticket first in the manga (when they showed her's and Kagura's past), then when they actually animated her as a completely bad*ss character in episodes 1 and 2....and finally her sisterly love self throughout the remainder of the series prior to obtaining the Sesshouseki.

I havent watched anything past episode 4, mainly cause i hate how much they censored out of this anime. I wanted to wait for the dvds to come out. and they have. dvd 1(episode1 and 2) has been subbed. and OMG there is sooooo much more blood... the deaths of the 1st cast, are so much more grusome.

the 1st guy to die, the one holding the coffee cup that gets his hand cut off, its soooo funny cause you can see his bloody stump with just a small amount of blood squirting out.

Thats on page 4.

Episode 1 on the dvd, "how did she die? i saw blood...im guessing she was stabbed...too bad. It would have been much cooler/better if she was decapitated. That whole scene <20:32> where she slowly falls to the ground, If her head had fallen off right there, THAT would have been epic. Also could have it roll around and roll infront of him staring at him"

all that DOES happen, they clipped it out of the TV version, witht he exception of the blood spray, everything i said they shoulda did, they did.

i cant wait for the rest of the dvds,(im dumping my TV versions) im glad i didnt spoil myself with the censored version of this anime, and i really cant wait for dvd 2, the yuri sister scenes will probally be more interesting

It was a tragic ending that didn't quite feel tragic if that makes any sense. The reason being is for many episodes we have known that Kagura would have to kill Yomi or vice versa. It just took a while for Kagura to come to terms w/having to kill the person she loved the most. I thought it was a great underlying question... Could you kill a person you love out of or because of love? The story did a superb job developing the relationship between the girls so you were highly invested in the answer.

I think I read that this anime was a prequel to the Garei-zero manga? Since I'm officially a garei fan now I would definitely luv to see another series. Yomi wins my award for villain that you can't help but still wanna hug ^__^ can't we just give her a pass for killing a couple ppl here and there? lmao

The song was played in the end of Episode 11 is a Chorus version of the last three songs in Image Collection. Those songs are hontou only one song with the same melody but different Vocals : : AI ( Kagura's - M Vocal ) - IF ( Yomi's - S Vocal ) - Reincarnation ( Combination of 2 vocals AI & IF ) ==> Perfect Arrangement ( I surprised they even made the Verse - Chorus Duet Form in the song )
