Ive watched the whole first season and ep 1-6 from this show over the last week. At first I didnt want to watch it because of all this genderbender stuff but after a lot of people were saying this show is good I read a few things on the net and decided to watch it.
And it was totally different than I imagined at first. After all I stopped beeing interested into it after hearing genderbender so I thought its just some haremshow with a genderbender as male protagonist.
But after watching the first ep I got hooked. Mariya is a great character since shes evil and Kanako the perfect victim. But Kanako is great too with all her lesbian delusions and what not.
Overall the characters are almost all interesting, the only one who lacks a bit is Matsurika.

Animation-wise I was totally surprised. I dont look after who does what or which Seiyus are in it (because its totally uninteresting) so I didnt know it was a Shaft-work, but after the first few minutes that became pretty clear. Its not as good as Madoka was, but its ok.

The main problem of this show is that its getting more and more boring after each ep. It began after a few eps and its continuesly getting worse and worse. The comedy is mostly already used except that it looks a bit different and the charactesr dont add anything to it (just like with Mitsudomoe S2).

I gave the first season a 7/10. The second season will probably be less.

Ok it seems the OP animation changes slightly now, but pretty much the OP song is the same for this season. I kind of liked how things are going this season, and it seems that Kanako just gets deeper and deeper into troubble it seems.

Oh yeah for the bonus at the end I have to say I approve of it since that was how I kind of saw that anime series never the less. Yes it was the ever so famous Maho Loli series that SHAFT did.

Just this series alone makes me belvie that this is a good studio for some anime like this.

Yeah that seems like a normal thing SHAFT would do in thier school comedies, or something close to it.

In any case it looks like that this is the new OP song for this season now. Isms sads nows. I mean I was hoping for something like they did with the first seaosn in being rather "unique" instead of it seeming like it was taken an OP from the early 70s or so. I'm guessing that going retro is a new trend now?

Yes, this was the best episode of the season so far. Kanako at her crazy best. And it was good to see Maria back in her full troll mode with her Pyramid scheme.

Also, Kyubei sighting at 13:32

Basically calling him a parasite.

I really like the humor of the first season but the first two episodes of the second season were pretty weak in humor. I just watched the third one and this put me back in favor of the series. It just made me LMAO

Well I have to say SHAFT is trying to go with a new OP/ED for this, but I kin dof like the first seaosn's OP/ED though since it worked so well for this series.

Although I have to say that they are really going for the running gag with Kanako and the priest with this episode. Although I have to admit that it feels like Mariya is being pushed to the side on causing Kanako any major problems, but that was the best sell point of this series.

If you liked the first season, this one is exactly the same.

Actually not quite. SHAFT really upped the animation quality to Zetsubou Sensei level and began using more imagery than in the prequel. In addition the main director has changed for the series. Akiyuki Shinbou now supervises as the chief director while Tomokazu Tokoro is a new additional director on the team for the show. On the other had, Yukihiro Miyamoto no longer works on the series, and is instead working with Shinbou on Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko.

Overall, the first episode didn't really get very far. It tells us how Kanako's parents met, but I didn't feel as if plot/comedy wise has changed, which makes me a bit disappointed since I was really hoping for the staff to really start moving along given the snail pace and filler they placed in the prequel. I can't help but feel that Maria Holicw will eventually suffer a fate similar to that of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

Preliminary Expectation: Medium
Preliminary Score: 7/10

If you liked the first season, this one is exactly the same. It took me a bit to get back into the swing of things, remembering all the characters and their traits, but thankfully the story basically went over all of them. I wish we had seen Maria acting a bit more sadistic in this ep, but otherwise fun to watch. The Dorm leader is one of my favorite characters and she got a lot of face time in this episode, so that was good. I think the OP was probably a gag version like SHAFT did with Arakawa from time to time, and we will likely get the real version with the next ep. I hope so anyway, because funny as it was, it's not up to the quality of the first season's OP.

Well since the second season prety much picks up were we last left off I see no reason for it. For one we did this before with another SHAFT series mind you. So it might be a running trend to do so. Also, it makes things much easier forthose who haven't seen the first season to go out and watch it to understand what is going on so far.

In any case I kind of found it funny that the First Girl's Dorm was booby-trapped to the point of were it was nothing more than a fun house to go see the legendary tree. In the end there was a major kicker of the group just using the Emergency Exit Gate instead.

Poor Kanako, I wonder if her yuri tendencies will ever come to pass, or will she actually end up with Maryia in the end. Either way it's always fun to watch.

I guess we don't really need a thread for the 2nd season, or do we?

The show seems to pick up where we left off, along with giving us a few reminders during the episode... Like, in case we forgot, Kanako is a huge dyke that hates men and gets severe nosebleeds when she has her lesbian fantasies. Oh yeah she also gets rashes whenever she is touched by a man.
I do like some aspects of this show, like I remember really enjoying the episode with the priest voiced by Tomokazu Sugita. I also like Matsurika's character a lot, partly because she is voiced by favourite Inoue Marina, and also because of her deadpan sarcasm. However, the gags with Kanako fainting from nosebleeds are seriously unfunny to me, and that happens like 10 times in an episode. Still I think I'll watch it, because I'm curious if there will be any developments in Mariya and Kanako's relationship... if either of them will grow at all because of the other.
