Kit, I think I read about White Album 2 is with completely new characters.

From WIKI: -

QUOTE
White Album 2 takes place in the same setting as its predecessor with approximately ten years having been elapsed since the events of the first White Album. The story begins during the second half of October. The second part of White Album 2 will take place several years after the events of Introductory Chapter.

The story of White Album 2 begins around the second half of October. The story will slowly advance with the meeting between Haruki, Setsuna, and Kazusa. Prior to this, the three characters never really interacted with each other much. During the school festival, the three characters will form a band together with one person on vocals and the other two playing instruments.

We might get some extra info concerning the characters in the 1st White Album, since its all in the same setting....prehaps Yuki and Touya are married.

Kit, I really really liked Yayoi's character.

Also thank you for the explanation......so it was Rina who did the mirror-lipstick message and it actually does make sense for her to write the message and not Yuki.....as well as that, I totally forgot that there was another clue to justify this as well, at the table where the mirror is the letter for Touya by Yuki, which was ripped up by Yayoi and then sello-taped together by Rina-chan. Another thing was during the duet concert, Rina said she was fair to Yuki and in a way it kinda looks like she was saying that she is giving up on Touya.

The whole thing about Touya locking away his memory and trauma by listening to the words of Menou-chan with the saviour-goddess business..........was all a bit far-fetched but then again it was pretty much the main plot device.

Kit, I kinda feel relieved after reading your post and I hope not to think about White Album ever again.....it was meant to be a good series but it needed better execution.

Well....that was rather obvious that the entire last episode was rushed. Things were too convenient at the right times and happened quickly one after another without any meaningful or significant development. Not to mention that the series essentially ended in the same way season 1 did to some degree. That ending wasn't confusing, but rather completely inconclusive despite all the implications.

Basically, Touya "sealed" all his memories this entire time and kept Yuki waiting for 10 years. He suddenly remembers after Rina's "encouragement" and Akira basically clarifying the rest. *insert all the stuff from Touya's memories*. With that, Rina basically knew at least from the beginning of the episode that Touya was meant for Yuki and so she simply disappeared from his life, hence the note on the mirror. This essentially eliminated the last possible "character split" and so Yuki is the one Touya ended up with even though it was never showed explicitly.

What was really confusing, though probably a subtitle or dialogue mishap, was whether or not Mana was attending a university or high school at the end of the series. Last I checked, she was trying to get into high school and not a university. On the other hand, Kanzaki looked significantly older than she did earlier so I'm a bit confused as to whether years had passed or not, though I'm guessing not since Mana still looks like a loli.

Nevertheless, this series was really just painful to watch. It was definitely unique in terms of setting and it definitely had a plot going for it at times, but overall, it simply couldn't execute it. The most important parts were often cut short at the most crucial times and simply left as is. The series spent more time on other "useless" characters like Yayoi, Misaki, Haruka, Menou, and Mana (though I wouldn't mind more Mana), who really did not play that big of a role in the end. In addition, this resulted in little to no screentime for Yuki and Rina, especially Rina who mysteriously disappeared after the concert and we never learned of her true whereabouts other than the hint provided by the new record label.
Honestly speaking, me giving this a 7/10 is being extremely generous at this point. Even though the directors were different for both series, the pacing was too slow for this series and the focus was constantly off.
Although White Album 2: Introductory Chapter, the first of two games for White Album 2, comes out in February 2010 and is the supposed sequel to the original White Album game, I don't know if I want to see it animated at this point given how poorly this was done.

heh, the ending is just screwed up. There should have been a zerg of girls looking to skin Touya alive then stake him to a cross and burn him but as per typical of Animes, real life didn't enter into the ending at all. At least they didn't get too bizarre with it. An OVA to tell what actually happened might be nice but the underlay is there, IMO. Touya goes on to be just like his father, old bachelor/father, with no wife. All of his goddesses ditch him and become successful because they aren't around his negative cursed life.

Nope it is suggested that it goes back to Yuki, since she was waiting for him right from the beginning to remember his past, the trauma and the medal. He was able to return it back to Yuki and change. Hence, the girl who he is waving at the end of the episode is Yuki as they are now fixing their relationship, Touya has forever discarded the saviour-goddess curse and is finally a free man to feel love properly.

BTW....Touya's dad is a widow.....Touya's mother died and then Touya was chucked out of the house.

Therefore, it was a screwed up ending but suggested that Yuki and Touya are back together.

BUT.......I wish for someone else in the forum to say something clear-cut.

It's probably due to the new x264 encode if you're using any coreavc older than 2.0 (just came out). If not, try updating cccp if you haven't already done so or use ffdshow instead. Otherwise, I don't know what's up. It's definitely in the encoding area since Tomodachi's file sizes have decreased dramatically.

Well I just tried playing episode 26 and it didn't even work on VLC....weird. I haven't been using my laptop for very long time and only got it back recently and I think I only updated with the latest version of K-Lite but I just downloaded the CCCP codec pack version 2009-09-09. I'm gonna install this and see if there is any difference.

EDIT #1:

I tried to install the latest CCCP and the ass of a laptop gave me the "out of memory" error.

I went to investigate and saw something weird.....my C: drive's hdd space gradually decreased from 1 gig to 56mb. Weird....so I used CCleaner and deleted 4 random files that came about 700mb......a few seconds later is went down to 538mb.

I have no clue why this happens because all my downloads are directed towards my external hard-drive. I downloaded the CCCP codec pack and tried installing whilst it was in my external drive and so I put it in the E: drive and now its installing perfectly.

My laptop is just weird and needs to be checked soon...........its been acting funny for awhile now. Like it freezes whenever I want to delete a video file......it just freezes and I can't even copy the video file either. Basically I've got no idea of how to fix my laptop apart from an eventual reformat.

EDIT #2:

It works perfectly fine.....episode 26 that is....the CCCP install was great and I foudn out the problem was because I had the 2007 version of CCCP and the latest K-Lite codec pack. Therefore, this means that K-Lite doesn't always cover for everything.

Ahhh....I'm going to do some work now, can't be asked to watch the last episode anymore.

EDIT #3:

As I said, I wasn't able to read what Rina wrote on her pad when she was in the hospital having lost her voice tempoaraily in episode 25.

So I rewatched episode 25 and then watched episode 26, which I just finished now.

I really liked the 2nd season and was going to give it a 9/10 at then end but that didn't happen because the ending was just confusing........I am dissatisfied with the ending.

The whole peeing his pants to save Haruka and Yuki in his flashback was a very *weird* shock.

Basically the ending is weird but it seemed like he kinda broke up with Yuki but I have a feeling that its more on the line of starting a new fresh relationship with Yuki by dsicarding his trauma and the whole saviour-goddess crap. So that she wouldn't be hurt by the "chains of the past".

I'm hoping he's waving at Yuki at the end but then again it said something like "What I lost.....". Hence, I'm unsure who he's ended up with or at least who the hell he was waving at ???

I want someone to give me an in-depth explanation of this ending please.

I'm giving this 8/10.

I think it needs at least an OVA or a 3rd season to clean this mess up.

Well, it's over now... I thought I had managed to keep track of most "ins and outs" through this series but now after ep 26, I think I am going to have to watch it all again to properly make sense of it all.

So, once everyone has managed to watch this last episode, please... I'd REALLY like to know: just WHAT exactly HAPPENED in the end?!?!?!

I watched episode 22 to 25 just now. I actually have a few problems.....a couple of the episodes subbed by TMD-Raze don't play on MPC but they work fine on VLC but the font style is crap and I can't read any of those text that go in the middle such as when Rina-chan is communicating by writing on that paper-pad....its cluttered with numbers and stuff....making it very unclear. Episode 25 loads up on MPC but just does not play, this has only happened with 2 other episodes of Season 2 that were released by TMD-Raze and I think those episodes were 16 and 19. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING ??? Episodes 16, 18, 20 to 24 worked fine on Media Player Classic.

Anyways, I've finally caught up and I've got no idea of how this is going to end and somehow, I'm kinda fearing the worst.

I really really liked Yayoi-chan despite her being kinda creepy at times but she literally always talks in opposites and its soooooooo obvious that she had fallen in love with Touya. The 2 were lying to each other in order to protect others and themselves......especially Yayoi-chan......Touya went along with it so that he wouldn't hurt her. I'm betting most of you guys are disagreeing with this statement.

I seriously did not think Touya would actually have sex with Misaki and Haruka in the earlier episodes.

Currently, the 3 females I would want Touya to pair with are Menou, Rina-chan or Yayoi. However, realistically speaking its going to be more like Yuki or Rina.....probably Yuki though......I actually don't like her.

Looks at Kit's post...true....it kinda did seem that Yayoi was admitting defeat indirectly to Yuki and did this by just saying she lost to Touya. I really really did like her.

Thanx for the spoiler tag Kit.....didn't want to open that one.

I got pretty busy today and was only able to watch a few episodes.

I just finished episode 17 (episode 04 of Season 2).....this series is really something.....actually pretty amazing in the fact that it really is keeping me intrigued but the same time I'm constantly like how the hell is this going to end.

I'll probably watch another episode before going off to bed.

EDIT:

Looks like I continued and watched up to episode 21 (episode 08 of Season 2) and I've got NO BLOODY IDEA how they are actually going to finish this series........I would actually like them to do a 3rd season if possible because I want them to use all the characters a bit more such as Menou-san, we actually don't know much about her as well as many other questions like why Touya was thrown out. I would love to see Touya and Yayoi get into a proper relationship............I don't like Yuki at all, she's annoys me. I believe Touya and Yuki met a very long time before but Touya doesn't remember anything about it and constantly recalls their first meeting at the school's shoe-lockers.

So far so good.......I'm really enjoying this series and I don't want to read any spoilers and I'm kinda glad this thread got to a new page.
