The Moon Phase Comments diary reports that a NetMile Research survey has leaked the news of an anime adaptation for Satoko Kiyuzuki's GA Geijutsu-ka Art Design Class manga. The slice-of-life manga revolves around five freshman girls in a high school art class. The manga has been running in Heiwa Shuppan's Comic Cute! magazine and later in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat since 2004, and two volumes have been compiled and published.

According to the web diary, Hiroaki Sakurai (Di Gi Charat, Kodocha, Cromartie High School) will direct off scripts that will be supervised by Doko Machida (Allison & Lillia, Lucky Star, Tears to Tiara). Atsuko Watanabe (Fight Ippatsu! Jūden-chan!!) will reportedly design the characters that AIC will animate.

Owww... it saddens me how this charming, quirky series gets so little love. It's not a masterpiece, but it has a great cast of characters, and I like its mix of zaniness and bravado. The main problem is that Kisaragi's role is too big. Sure, she is cute and all, but she doesn't have enough backbone to carry whole episodes. I would have loved to see much more Awara--she's just so funny!

I watched the first episode and it was very very "meh", I was constantly pausing the episode and checking stuff on the net and I just wanted to see something really funny but it kinda disappointed me. I'm going to watch this show in proportions and I'm now going to watch something else as I'm getting kinda bored now.

WOW.......turns out this series wasn't that popular.....what a shame but I'm going to watch this some time this week, which is a DEAFO!!

the problem, at least for me, was that this series tried to be Hidamari Sketch, Ichigo Mashimaro, and Sketchbook at the same time. Didn't go too well since things became repetitive and the comedy factor wasn't that good either.

Well I got around to watching episode 1.

It was mostly boring, but 3 parts on it got my to laugh pretty hard.
When she drew the half men-fish pictogram. That was awesome.
When they messed up her saved file in the computer. It's funny because I used to do that on my programming and web-dessing class.
The last pictogram with "Rebel" teenager.

I'll keep watching it for now. It wasn't that great, but those 3 moments got me good. XD

The first episode is indeed a bit iffy. Hang in there, it gets much better later on. I personally totally laughed my ass off during episode 7, for one.

I wasn't so fond of this one at first, but something compelled me to keep on watching. And I have to say, things start falling together nicely; the characters are a wonderful blend. I especially like Nodamiki a lot. It's also fun that there's a different ending theme for each character.

Episode 2 was actually rather nice, especially the part about the granny and the pencils. This ain't no Hidamari Sketch or Sketchbook, but it's pretty cute in its own right.
