So its over. I must say im a bit disappointed since a lot of questions were never answered. What is Lag? What is happening in Akatsuki? About the artifical sun. Why did the world become such a deserted place? And so on.
But it was far better than the first season with the countless useless eps.

The end itself was quite nice and I really like the idea of Noir never becoming Gauche again. It wouldve spoiled a lot if that happened.

The second season gets a 8/10 (first one was 6/10) and overall a 7/10.

Connor and Sunny...he sure has taken good care of her since she lost her heart. She is like a robot atm, baking cookies and offering them to Connor like she did in the olds days. That flat affect on her sweet face, made me wonder but well, I am sure she will recover eventually, but who knows? Connor, for his part, is angry and bitter...can't say I blame him. Looks like this episode was just a break since we are now onto episode 21 and soon, the finale. I read the anime has finally caught up to the manga, so here's hoping it goes out in style with a bang up finale, the baddies are caught, quartered, and hung out to dry.
Of course, at the end of this episode some things are looking up...

I can understand that Lag and Sylvette cry after seeing Gauche again. But Lag crying everytime he looks at Gauche? Come on how lousy can you be -.-

What Im not really understand is why everyone says its impossible to regain their heart but for Gauche they say it would possible. Why doesnt someone of them think of the possibility that Gauche is working for Reverse out of his own will because he saw things in the capital he didnt like. Maybe what they did to Roda or something like that. Sure you saw he had memorie-loss, but that doesnt mean he lost his heart.
Gauche now beeing a spy isnt the case here I think since the boss of Reverse doesnt seem to have given him the order to do so. I guess he is different than before since he now has mixed both personalitys. Or he really is acting but on what purpose? Now he is under surveillance and Reverse wants him dead.

Hum...things are getting ugly and dark in beautiful Amberground. Of course, Lag-kun and Sylvette continue to spill tears and here I thought they were more mature...ah well. Anyway, I had a thought that "Gauche was not really Gauche," twas like Dr. Thunderland stated, so astutely, "If Gauche is still Noir, then Noir can pull off this deception easy."
Of course, I am paraphrasing but it was an interesting thing to find him gone the following morning...Lag's face said it all, too. And now, a possible order to terminate Noir/Gauche, for fear he may have spilled the beans? I bet Roda will really lay her life down this time...

Im a bit surprised that Reverse says they want to make the world like the Empress wants her. I thought the empress would be their enemy no. 1.

I really like Roda more and more. Shes just far too sexy.
The abbey people were really stupid. Trusting someone to even become a human sacrifice. But its to be expected of religious people.

So Lag shot his heart into Gauche and Gauche remembers a bit. Still judging from the preview they are still enemys.
I really wonder what they meant with the Gaichuu eating the light of Akatsuki. I cant really believe a single Gaichuu is enough to overthrow the government,

This last episode was so good. A tearjerker for Connor-kun though, since kawaii, Sunny-chan confessed her love for him and refused to kill him when her superior ordered her to do so. I think she is one of the cutest female characters after Niche and Sylvette. She looks like a doll. Now, with Reverse on the attack, well, it is gonna get really interesting and difficult for Lag and gang. Don't care for Roda... she is spiteful and evil. Hellbent, on sacrificing the innocent folk just 'cause she was experimented on. Heck, go after the ones who did this to you and leave the poor folk alone. And who's to say t'was not the rebels themselves, who committed the so-called atrocities? Makes one wonder...anyway, on to more adventures, Amberground style.

Caught up to episode 9. Although the second season is a bit slow at times, it's really nice to see how every episode is actually relevant to some extent and not just some stand alone episode as most were in the first series. However, I am beginning to notice a bit of repetitiveness in scenes, particularly with Noir's/Gauche's flashbacks.

Niche's arc was definitely a nice break from all the reverse stuff since not much was really revealed about her in the first season.

From what it looks like however, development will begin to slow again with episode 10 now that Niche seems to be out of the picture for a while. What is more interesting however now is what is Lag really. I think this was brought up early on in season 1, but it seems that it was long forgotten and I'm really glad to see them bring it back up here. Looks like things will get a bit more interesting now that there are even more things in the series to be pondering about.

This was exactly what shoudlve happened in season one instead of all those lousy fillers.

Finally we get to see a bit about the Maka and Niche. At first I thought it was her "real" mother or something but an oneesan is nice too. Im really looking forward to their story and I can really understand that she hates humans after beeing threated like that.
When the Mayor throw those two in the lake with a smile I really thought "Have you gone batshitinsane or something? Whats wrong with you man?".

Its probably the Spirit Amber in his eye that makes Lag not a human anymore. I guess he is an experiment from Akatsuki. You know "one who became spirit" or at least a half-successful outcome.

But what did Noir in there? It doesnt seem that he got to the lake. Probably really because of those "unnormal" gaichuu in there.

@Imtakes: What do you mean with Roda is not Roda oO

Two golden jewels born of a mother who was to be sacrificed...finally, a part of this wonderful story I have long been waiting for. We meet Niche's twin sister. What a beauty she is, so womanly and so angry...hell, I don't blame her, especially, after what the villagers did to her and Niche, 200 years ago. The Maka is a mysterious looking golden creature. What of its origins?
Has me wondering too, what Gauche/Noir was snooping around in the cave for. And we see that Roda is not Roda, after all...interesting.
Look forward to more "Child of Maka storytelling.

So after the most useless ep with the lighthouse we got back to the Gauche Story again.

That there is something wrong with Akatsuki was clear from the beginning. Alone the thing about only invited people can live there is suspicious like nothing else. And since everyone who was there is changing sides makes it even more believable.

Next time seems to be a Sylvette ep. I hope we at least get a bi more background about her and Gauche.
