Technically Strike Witches 2 does count since they were the Parent company for the studio that did the frist season. So if you put it that way there is still the chance for a second season.

In any case the manga is much more detailed and somewhat more interesting past this point of course. Although I get this funny feeling that they didn't want to continue with this series for another season, but it does have potential of having an actual catgirl as a main character instead of a secondary character of some sorts.

Manga? Forget that, play the game. As for second season, I don't think AIC has actually done second seasons for any of their shows yet, so the chances were zero to begin with. Strike Witches 2 doesn't count.

Well from the looks of it the anime kind of went with it's own ending before the manga progessed beyond that part. I mean the one girl they fought at the end felt out of place for being there to begin with.

that rating is way too kind Kit!!! The ending was a joke and the plot was crappy too.

It probably is. But I don't feel inclined to give it a 1 or 2 since I reserve that for shows with absolutely no plot or simply meaningless to begin with. The plot was indeed crap, but at least it had one. Like I said, this show's saving grace is Yuki Kajiura and FictionJunction, which I give a 10/10 in the music department. Had that soundtrack not been there, this would have fallen into the 3/10 department. This show was actually on the borderline of a 4/10. (When I average the individual scores, it turns out to be 23/50)

When I started watching it, I didnt know it is a 12 epi anime.... so when the anime was about to end, I thought it is starting to pick up, finally..... just to fall from the skies when I found out that was it. I was like: Wait..... so, what was this about? Nothing really happend, nothing was explained or resolved..... wtf? And then the out of place last episode... for that 5/10 really is too soft.

Let me see here...I stopped half way through the show mid-season due to lack of subs and watched the rest of it today....all I can say is this show was bad.

I recall the first 6 episodes being terribly slow and then episodes 7-8 being more of explanation episodes. They were pretty average overall. Episode 9 was probably the best except the end of it, but a lot of Nemuru screen time as well as back story revealed entirely. Episode 10 and 11 felt like a waste of time with a very cliche ending. Episode 12, although funny, was not the right way to end such a series. Although the Nemuru moments were awesome (UsaEru....) it was a waste of my time and it told me basically that the studio had not planned the story out properly. Norihiro Takamoto has now failed twice, the first being 07-Ghost as director 07-Ghost followed a similar pattern except didn't end as bad. Ookami Kakushi, on the other hand, had the chance of living up to what Umineko no Naku Koro ni should have been but was wasted almost immediately from the get-go. The poor pacing of plot, the lack of suspense that Higurashi and Umineko had, everything possible from a Ryukishi 07th work. Everything was ruined and turned into some harem, happy-go-lucky show instead. First things first, this isn't suppose to be a kid's show. Bad ends are suppose to happen!

Animation quality was quite lousy. All the characters were drawn nicely, but the fact that Mana's wheelchair had the best graphics out of everything is a sad moment. The details for everything else was beyond lousy for something airing in HD. Mana's wheelchair = true HD.

Now for the music, the one redeeming aspect of this show and done by none other than Yuki Kajiura and the FictionJunction team. Only very few composers and singers can get past this with flying colors, and yet Yuki Kajiura and her team make it look like it takes little to no effort. As for the cast, I was not impressed. The cast was dull, and you can easily tell (aside from Nemuru's and Mana's seiyuus) that no one really wanted to do this show about half way through. Most of the dialogue felt it was monotone throughout episodes on end.

Character development? You mean there was one? I recall lots of recap scenes, but nothing that really dwells into another character's past all that deep. Most of it was for "plot conveniences" rather than any sort of OMGWTF moment about a specific character that made them stand out or unique.

Enjoyment? pssh....nothing. This show was bad. That's two Ryukishi 07 works down the drain now in a row. The fact that Higurashi still holds its head extraordinarily high is beyond ridiculous after 3-4 years now. Unless someone chooses to remake Ookami Kakushi properly, which I doubt will happen, this show is not worth watching. It's pacing is very jumpy and there was no reason to throw in episode 12 as a filler, regardless of Nemuru fanservice. That should have been a DVD OVA and episodes 10-12 should have done something more interesting to create a more satisfying ending rather than the "oh look, the antagonist is going to die with the person that looks like his/her lover." Don't people think that's been overused enough already?

Last episode I liked because of the screen time with Nemaru.

Overall this is a hard one to judge. It was a good anime with some decent suspense but compared to lets say Higurashi it was nowhere close at all. I really wanted that pure psychotic gruesomeness that Higurashi has in it. This series had the potential but fell short by quite a distance.

The story line was very interesting and there were some great parts that were very creepy and heavy with mood and atmosphere, but once again it all fell short. I do feel this series could have been 24 episode to really get into the gods and the entire background.

Character design was adorable. The girls were drawn extremely cute ( who could not like Nemaru) and the voice acting was excellent as well. I just once again wish the story and time line would match the quality the VA's and artwork gave.

I am going to rate it as a supernatural suspense/thriller a 7/10 unfortunately. Definitely recommendable but falling quite flat by my benchmark of this type being Higurashi

I liked the series, but the last episode ruined the whole mood of the series. If I wanted 'retarded' I would have watched 'retarded.' Other then the last episode it was awesome.

For the protagonist however I would have thought that he would have left town at the end. To help the wolves you know sense he was the source of all their problems anyway with his BO heh .

Here is food for thought, what would you do if you discovered you lived in a town that was mostly non-human like the wolves in this anime? And the wolves are tempted to attack normal humans?

Would you stay or go?

I kind of liked the antagonist in this series myself, I think it would have ended better if he would have busted a cap in the maiden then in himself. That would have ended the series on a perfect note to me.
