Jun 26 2010 12:52 PM Finally finished this series. This show lacked a lot of things, good animation quality, good soundtrack, and a good plot. The amount of plot holes in this show was incredibly vast and it seems that the creators have no intention of covering them up with an OVA or special of some sort. It seems as though they mainly spent their time making t-shirts as shown in the sponsor commercials over production of the actual show. To some extent, the fanservice in this show wasn't even that good and the action was always half-done. The animation quality was very mediocre from ZEXCS. If you ask me, Umi Monogatari even looked better and that plot was even worse than this (despite a similar human coexistence plot)
The biggest facepalm moment was when Yuuto didn't have the guts to slay Himari. That one moment may have been the largest turning point in the series. It's hard to believe that I actually expected the series to have potential when it first started, especially given how poor all the episodes were.
This one will be archived and essentially never watched again. I don't recommend watching this show if you have spare time. If you want a cat-like show, go watch Nyan Koi!, Mayoi Neko Overrun!, or Kanokon, both of which are better than this. If you want love romance or harem, this is definitely the wrong show and you should be watching Shuffle! or Gift ~Eternal Rainbow~. Furry-fetish? Try Spice and Wolf. Swordplay, there are tons better out there. Asu no Yoichi is probably the closest one that fits all of these (except the furry aspect). Although not a perfect series, definitely better than Omamori Himari.
As for when compared to the rest of the season this aired in, this is pretty bad. Hidamari Sketch x Hoshimittsu, Nodame Cantabile, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, were among its main competitors while everything else, including this show, fell apart from beginning to end. Score:
5/10 -- I'm in fact considering giving this show a 4/10, but there was one scene that was quite decent in this show and that's probably what's changing my mind.
