OKAY....back to Hanamaru. The series was an absolute joy to watch and I knew way before the first episode aired that this series will be PURE WIN and even after saying that, many were skeptical about this series turning into an unwanted trainwreck.

I had this impression of epicness when I saw that first episode but the repetitiveness of Tsuchida failing and the awful ending really annoys me to no end.

Yamamoto > all other teachers As dense as she is, she made a lot of things funny, at least for me.

And more Satsuki wouldve been great too.

The only downpoint of this series is that the other teachers werent much in the series, even htough they were interesting too, at least more than Yamaoto. And more Satsuki wouldve been great  too.

Yeah, this bothered me as well. Nana was not even one of the more interesting characters; yet the screentime she received was over the top. I did like to hear her insight every now and then though, but that goes for all the teachers; not just her.

Hopefully, if we get a second season, we'll get that missing confession as well as a little more background on other characters.

Note: The main reason I didn't take the lack of a closed ending away from my rating is because that is an unfair assumption to make. Why would should they wrap up everything if there is a chance they may do another season? I don't think it's valid, for those who did, to rate it lower just because Tsuchi didn't end up with Nana... it's a pretty childish gesture. Of course if another season or OVAs never show themselves, I would take it back.

So in the end we still havent seen a serious confession, even though it was the best possible moment for it. Why cant Tsuchi just get his ass together and say it?

The only downpoint of this series is that the other teachers werent much in the series, even htough they were interesting too, at least more than Yamaoto. And more Satsuki wouldve been great too.

Overall I give this series a 9/10.

2 ppl so far giving this a 9/10 and another 2 giving this series a 7/10.

Which group am I in ??

Well, before I reveal the answer, I have to state my rating system is somewhat flawed and to many it may seem that I'm too generous but at the end of the day...only the 9's and 10's are stuff what I liked the most.

OKAY....back to Hanamaru. The series was an absolute joy to watch and I knew way before the first episode aired that this series will be PURE WIN and even after saying that, many were skeptical about this series turning into an unwanted trainwreck.

Unfortunately, my plans of following all the Winter 2010 animes from start to finish fell apart as soon as it began, too much workload is my excuse. Hence, I marathoned the first eleven episodes last Firday and Saturday......brilliant and definitely the best of the Winter 2010 animes but I guess you shouldn't take my word for it as I haven't watched past episode 2 of Durarara! and not watched Dance in the Vampire Bund at all.

The EDs for this series were great and I wish to get my hands on them. The animation and the seiyuus used matched the series very well. The chibi-toddlers aka Anzu-chan and Crew's antics always kept a smile on my face whilst watching.

I have a sad feeling after watching episode 12, I usually avoid this feeling somewhat by not watching the last episode so as to always keep it in my "got-to-watch" list and I guess since using MAL, I have kinda stopped that behaviour. I think the main reason I do it is because I don't want to get to a point where there is no more of it and the thoughts that brew of "will I ever see more ?" come into play......when I was younger, I kinda felt depressed a little bit......sounds wrong, doesn't it ? (I hope this is understandable. )

Anyways, I don't do that anymore, I would love to see season 2 but I have this feeling that it might not happen because its GAINAX and they're unpredictable in most cases.

Oh yeah, Tsutchi reminds me of Keitaro Urashima from Love Hina (main male character), I guess its mainly due to their appearance.

I'm giving this series 9/10 and I'm really hoping for a Season 2.

I'd just say that I ended the series with a smile on my face. I think thats what the whole series did for me. It was nothing revolutionary, just a good heartwarming watch, which I think is suitable of the plot. I saw the last ep thing coming from a mile away, and laughed when I read the first line he said because I knew it was coming. I do agree that the ending other than that was a little abrupt, but it didn't bother me much.

I'd put it on par with Kyou no Gou no Ni (spelling?) and give them both 7/10's on my MAL scale. They could easily pass for 8's, but I rate relative to my other series, and my 8 and aboves are brutally hard to match.

What a downer for a last episode. I was really hoping for something to happen and Yamamoto to not be thick-skulled. The worst part of the episode was when it just decided to end and make it feel nowhere near an ending, almost as if there was another episode coming. My review here will be short since I'm tired at the moment:

I really expected more out of GAINAX. This is the second show in a row they've failed now. The first being Shikabane Hime which finished this time last year and had the same issue, a lack of solid ending... the series just decided to end.
The story is very generic but funny. For a character played by Kei Shindou (Kuro in Kodomo no Jikan, Wang Liu Mei in Gundam 00), it was a very annoying role. Koume's and Hiiragi's seiyuu were just perfect as well as Yamamoto's. OP and ED had nice effects but weren't really anything all that special both song wise and video wise. As for character development....there's really not much as expected since 60% of the main cast are 5 years old Though I was hoping for some more Satsuki screentime in the end in addition to Yamamoto.

The show was overall enjoyable, but really went downhill towards the end of the series. I'd say the peak of the series was around the 9th episode and everything after that was repetitive and ended up getting nowhere in the end. This show could be much better but I'm still vexed by the fact that Gainax is coming up with shows that continue to end very poorly. 7/10

The last episode . Anzu sure seems to like Tsuchi..she knows she may not stand a chance but she wants him to be happy. A very good way to have an open ending (i like this one much better than Ladies vs butlers..this one has a good feeling about it and the characters are acting like they always did during the series). It sure was fun to watch the dream she had with all the people we already know in it. The best part of this episode has to be the part at which Sakura explains how Tsuchi helped her. That was somewhat unexpected. Very nicely done.

I sure am going to miss this series. At first i wasn't expecting too much of this series but after seeing the first episode i had to adjust my opinion. It was a big surprise with lots of fun to watch characters, little stories and nice scenes.
I am going to agree with AnimeWiz07: a 9 out of 10 and hopefully a second season

The best series of last winter hands down, I wish there were more episodes; pissed that there aren't at the moment and I could rant endlessly about it.

Anyway, I actually enjoyed episode 12 a lot, although I had to laugh at Tsuchi being dumb enough to start his confession the way he did; once I realized that it really will not happen until the end of the manga; I could not help but shrug it off with a laugh. It seems that Nana has taken a great liking to him though, to a point where she pays a lot of attention to him; from which feelings will surely sprout in the future. I wonder how she'd react if we got one of our cliche "misunderstanding" scenarios...

As for Anzu... it seems she knows in the back of her mind it's not going to happen, but follows the words her mother told her to the point irregardless.

On a strict scale of 1-10 with 5 being average; I give this one a big fat 9/10 because I'am feeling pretty dang generous with the lack of good series these past few years.

I'am ready for a season 2.

I just started watching this series and as my predictions were pretty accurate in saying this was bound to be an awesome series.

The only real problem is the fact that the series is very unlikely to get a 2nd season unless its announced very soon after the broadcast finishes. The reason I'm saying this is because this is how GAINAX does things with these kinds of series.

again a very good episode of Hanamaru . Seeing Tsuchi being somewhat down due to the problems he has with getting his feelings across to Nana was a very understandable reaction. To me it felt like a good idea to show how he feels about his problems. Hmm, i do wonder about something: the talk between Sakura and Tsuchi.... Was he talking about the past with Sakura when he said he couldn't confess to someone? . I wonder if he finally gets his feelings across to Nana although she did mention she didn't have energy enough to combine work with a relationship.
Sadly the next episode seems to be the last one. I really enjoy this anime so i do hope for a second season.
