I just finished this series, the last couple of episodes were really great to watch. I was rating this series at 7.5/10 but the last 2 episodes were really good....I'm giving it a final score of 8/10, which I think it deserved.

Sado's older sister, mother, Michiru-sensei and Arashiko Yuuno are all HAWT.

I wish there would be a 2nd season to this anime but I heard the DVD and Blu-Ray sales weren't that good plus the fact that the author died recently. Its highly unlikely that a 2nd season will happen, its a sad thought.

I found out at a forum that in the end of latest light novel, that another girl confesses her love to Tarou.

In Volume 8 of the light novel ----> MAJOR SPOILER ----> Yuuno and Taoru start going out as an official couple....she becomes his girlfriend....WOW!

If the series never gets a conclusion, then the conclusion that I think will happen is that Mio and Tarou will become a couple, with their S&M natures much lighter than they used to be. Tarou will finally be able to have some decency. Yuuno will get over her fear of men but will lose Tarou to Mio but she will support their relationship because she feels its the correct thing. Thats the main characters' routes sorted.

I just started watching this series and after finishing the first episode, I wanted to know about its original source and its sad to find out that the author died almost 2 months ago. Its so unfortunate that this series will not see an end. I really liked the characters as well from the first episode. I'll marathon this and watch something else.

A second season to this series is probably out of the question because of the author's death but there exists a possibility, since Itazura na Kiss got an anime adaptation and the manga was finished off after the original author died.

I found the news about the death of the author from manga-updates, I tried searching for this thread and wasn't able to get it because the keywords were too short and I thought this thread might not have been made, luckily I checked the page before and there it was.

EDIT #1:

I just finished watching episode 02 and I'm finding it hard to watch it because the author died. I really like the anime but I'm just getting sad just from the thought that the hope for a second season to this is just dwindling.

I think I'm going to call it quits and watch this series slowly, I need to be sleeping or something.....man....WTF....I wanted to take a nice long break but now that's impossible because of this DAMN feeling.

Its regrettable when a series is left unfinished.

EDIT #2:

Ahhhh....I think I'm over it for the time-being so I'm gonna use this opportunity to finish this series off. Episode 03 was pretty good, I'm glad they confronted the prick that hurt Yuuno and made him take a forced deal of never going or called her anymore.

So now that all the blu-ray episodes are out, I decided to finally finish this show. MM! is really an underrated gem of the Fall 2010 season. It certainly doesn't have the greatest story around...if you can even call the story a story...but the show certainly had a number of moments.

There's nothing creative or original about this show. The masochism act/love-triangle story has been done countless times. While not so much as the traditional school-life harem show, and considering the recent series, Working!!, has had a similar premise (androphobia) I wouldn't say this show is "refreshing" either. But what makes this show "different" from many other shows recently is the execution. This is a bittersweet issue since you know it's going to be bad, and if you can't come to terms with that or set that bias aside, then the show ends up being a miserable experience. However, if you can ignore that bias, then this show can actually be a bit more interesting. While I'm personally biased because I think Mio's sadistic/tsundere character is an interesting twist, it doesn't change the fact that this show can be quite funny at times.

Animation is very high quality coming from XEBEC. Having also done the "beautfiul" Motto To Love-Ru recently, it's nice to see XEBEC finally stepping up their animation quality after the hideous Kanokon and Ladies x Butler early last year. Not to mention consistent animation quality. MM! demonstrated a solid consistency in this department unlike a number of shows in Fall 2010.

Music wise wasn't exactly the greatest thing ever, but rather interesting, catchy, and good to listen to as a TV size...full song not so much. Seiyuu wise, Jun Fukuyama as Tarou is great considering most of the roles he has been filling as of late are abused characters. Ayana Taketatsu as Mio was also perfect in my opinion. While other veteran seiyuus could have easily taken up this role, I really liked seeing a newer seiyuu get some spotlight. It's just a shame that this show was cast away by many after the first episode and undervalued by those that finished it.

Enjoyment? While it took me forever to finish this show (partly because of waiting for someone decent to sub this), I certainly enjoyed this compared to most shows from Fall 2010. While shows like Yosuga no Sora, Shinryaku! Ika Musume, and OreImo obviously trump this show, this is a nice laid back show. I had a few issues with where certain pieces of the "plot" was placed such as the wedding dress episode but overall it was a relatively fun ride. I really enjoyed the final 2 episodes when Mio started to develop feelings for Tarou. While obvious that this would eventually be the case, the execution was nice and "bawww" type drama.

Overall, it's really unfortunate to know that this series will remain unfinished due to he recent passing of the author of the light novels. It was a really fun show and it's unfortunate that we'll never be seeing a continuation since it just wouldn't make any more sense to cliffhang a show with an already weak plot. While this show certainly lacks a solid story, I'm sure that we were only getting to the beginning of the "good stuff" from the light novels given how the series was going. Really sad to see this series kick the bucket as is.

Preliminary Score: 6/10
Final Score: 7/10

Although why do I get this feeling that this seires is left unfinished in the light novel format now that he is no longer of this world?

Don't even have to doubt it...it just the way it is...when a author dies, the continuation dies along with him/her, and the title will be left unfinished. Even if it was continued by someone else, it wouldn't be the same title...

Sad to hear this news. Even though i found the series not the best it still had some good episodes and scenes. A second series would have been good to watch to see if they could improve. No chance now...

One thing you have bare in mind is that lots of light-novel readers always mention anime adaptation fails to deliver the full attractiveness of the original (may be due the the anime format being unable to portrait things in greater details).

Either way, an anime adaptation for a author's work tends to be considered as an honourable achievement for light-novel/manga author in Japan (no matter how good or poor the anime adaptation is), so at least it was an accomplishment he managed to achieve before he reach the end....

Anyway, may he rest in peace now. Still...32 years of age is too young to go...

It's unfortunate that MM! will never be properly completed now. I actually enjoyed this show (still haven't finished though).

Another great slap stick ecchi series. Was on the fence with it in the beginning. My thoughts were who is trying to be Taiga! Luckly Mio turned out to be completely different in my opinion but she is in my book as one of the best most violent women!

Concept was completely out there but refreshing. Some moments were a bit over the top but all in all I felt a weekly need to watch the next episode.

Overall 8/10 great characters, funny funny funny violent anime if you watch to just have a good laugh and see a guy the the s&^t beat out of him and verbally abused again and again by a real cutely drawn girl Mio who is voiced by a wonderful VA Ayana Taketatsu who is quite new but has made a big impact lately.

The last episode made me cry... it was so sad for mio... but happy in the end it reminds me of myself... thats why i love this anime. i have to agree tho that the end was a bit early. I would've loved to watch more episodes =)

All in all an awesome Anime worth watching! (Funny as hell with a touch of bitterness)
