I watched the entire series today with a friend, he enjoyed it and rated highly, which I would too.

Shouko, the careet woman...somewhat of a slut or just uses her assets to get things she wants and I was kinda happy she got slapped by Shuu but it was an unexpected twist when Shouko actually fell for the 30 year-old virgin. I really really wanted Tsukimi and Shuu to become a couple, I didn't really care for the crossdresser tbh. The sudden development kinda shocked me because I was rooting for the other couple combo and Shouko came off as a hated character, I mean I did feel angry towards her when she was blackmailing him but then all of a sudden when she went into "I have a real crush for Shuu" mode, I was a little taken aback and somehow felt for her and I wanted her to win in her love but I guess the bomb of her not having sex with him and the whole blackmailing will be a huge dealbreaker for Shuu in the future...I reckon. Man, this anime has got me really interested in the manga that I actually just downloaded the 1st volume from MT.

Hanamori the driver is hilarious about how he drops the ball with certain things or how he goes back on his word almost instantly whenever his Benz cars are being threatened or is told that he would get a new one, and his drawings are funny as hell as well, reminds me of Rukia's horrible drawings in Bleach but then again he can draw really well if it's something he's interested in like a Mercedes Benz S-Class, I can understand Hanamori's love for the S-Class Benz because my father has a S500 and it's a beautiful car in every way and I absolutely love the front passenger butt-heater (there's a button when you can turn on a heater for your butt to keep you warm, which is useful during Autumn and Winter, where it gets really cold in London.

Excellent series with loads of references and I absolutely loved the Romance of the Three Kingdom references because I understood all of them because I had recently played over 100 hours of Dynasty Warriors 7 (to get all of the achievements), which is based on the novels and includes certain characters from the sequel. These references made me enjoy the series on to a whole new level.

My rating for this series is a 9/10, I would give it a perfect but I wish there was more development and I'm secretly hoping for a 2nd season, which I'm not sure will happen. The anime used only 28 chapters and the manga is currently up to chapter 46, so a 2nd season could happen but this is done by Brain Base, so I'm not completely sure.

I shall be watching the specials now...I'll edit this post to share my views on them.

EDIT #1: -

Kuragehime Heroes☆ Specials

There's 4 episodes, each one is 5 minutes long and the last episode which features Shuu and Hanamori-san is the BEST of the 4, in fact its one of the best 5 minutes of the entire Kuragehime series, it was brilliant, that episode alone scores a 10/10 from me, it was brilliant when Hanamori told Shuu his job-related problem......bloody hilarious.

Kuragehime: Soreike! Amars Tankentai Specials

There are 6 episodes with each being about 30 seconds long, they were decent but not as good as the Heroes Specials imo.

The girls go out on a jungle camping trip...and boy...what fun they had. Each episode is 30 seconds of short and many times over funny fun.

Read the spoiler if you have finished watching the series

Barely got to see it and also was disappointed at the ending, though it leads to believe there will be a second season. I have to go look for the manga, need to see if there is more there. I hardly read manga, since I am watching new series or re-watching some of my fave.

Most character development changes, and then there is also the sudden attraction between Shooko & Shuu. Though we do not see it, neither do we see Tsukimi finding her feelings for Kuranozuke. Though also the same could be said about him towards her, they began to see that they feel different around each other, but that is all.

It would be sad if they leave this one open ended with unanswered questions, plus more character development. Though now a days that is a common factor in most anime series, that are based on romance and have limited episodes IMO. Over all I enjoyed it, I laughed, also found funny the open theme parodies. I would defenetly re-watch thi series later on.

Kuragehime is the show that aired in the Noitamina slot for Fall 2010 (in addition to Shiki). Kuragehime is an interesting series as it involves an apartment complex that housed only girls, mainly "otaku" girls of various hobbies ranging from Three Kingdoms to trains to older males to jellyfish. Kuranosuke is the second nephew of the current Prime Minister and cross-dresses because he wants to avoid the popular attention he has had since childhood.

The overall main plot really boils down to Kuranosuke and the Amamizukan girls attempting to stop the city from tearing down their home and replacing it with a high class hotel. The methods they use to salvage their home are often hilarious given their inability to "coexist" and interact with the outside world. In addition, we also get a take on political blackmailing from the developer's point of view. The biggest disappointment of Kuragehime, however, is the inability to deliver in the final episode. Everything was conveniently solved when Chieko's mom, who is the owner of Amamizukan, returned from her trip and said she was going to deny the request to tear down Amamizukan. This makes it feel as if all that build up in the past 4 episodes all for naught. This was not the only problem, the episode felt rushed overall. Shuu's and Shouko's relationship was also conveniently resolved from Shuu simply slapping Shouko in the previous episode and no further develop ensued.

Animation wise, it was a Brains Base show and it kept up to standards. The OP video was fantastic even though the ED video wasn't as good. They could use a bit of work on the art though since I occasionally mistook someone else for Kuranosuke because of his constant cross-dressing.

Music and sound wise was probably the weakest aspect of this show. Nothing really stood out here and the voice cast seemed surprisingly dull. Everyone felt very lifeless, and it's not just the "otaku" girls, I mean everyone in general in the show.

Enjoyment? It was really good up to that last episode when everything suddenly collapsed in the final minutes of Chieko's mom simply stating that she was not selling the property.

Overall, this show was great. The overall pacing of the show was smooth and I think one more episode could have really set this anime in stone by slowing down the events of episode 11 since so many things happened that some did not get enough development and just "happened" while some events as mentioned earlier did not feel like a proper conclusion was given.

Preliminary Score: 9/10
Final Score: 8/10

I have to agree with everyone about the ending bit but then again 11 episodes is just too short for it be wrapped up anyway. If everything were to be resolved so quickly it would be quiet rushed and I would probably be even more displeased. I really enjoyed it and I wish for a second season but if not, I'll still enjoy continuing with the manga. :3

I was disappointed that the love triangle wasn't resolved. But because there hasn't been much development on Tsukimi's end I suppose that was inevitable. I'm also surprised that the residents of Amamizukan still don't know that "Kurako" is actually a man. I thought they would find out by the end of the series.
I also wonder if Shuu has moved on from Tsukimi to Shouko... because he's blushing awkwardly now whenever he sees her. That could just be because he thinks he lost his virginity to her and that makes him feel.... embarrassed?
Despite missing an adequate conclusion, it was a great show. Definitely in my top 3 that came out last fall. I gave it an 8/10, deducting a point for not having a proper ending, but then again, when do we ever see a decent conclusion to an anime series? I do hope for a second season, but if it doesn't happen I should search for the manga to find out what happens next

Yuppers, lots of unfinished business with this show. They did sort of manage to find a bit of a resolving point to end the series with, winning the fashion show and _'s Mom saying she wasn't selling the building, but there is just so much more to tell. I really hope for a second season too. Noitamina rarely does them - only twice with Honey and Clover and Nodame Cantible - but since those shows are kind of in a similar vein to this one, maybe we can have some optimism about it happening. This was a very fun series with some unforgettable characters and amongst my most anticipated shows of the week. I give it an 8/10

I was rather disappointed with the ending...too rushed and we are left hanging unless a second season is planned, but all remains to be seen...hum.
"Looks like the start of a beautiful friendship"  Well, as I thought, Tsukimi-chan is not yet, paired off, in a definite final match with anyone. It is left up in the air to speculate about and see what is revealed in the DVD Specials. She makes her mark with the promise of a possible fashion career, thanks to Kurako. But what of love? I guess it will either bloom with our cross-dressing hero (seems weird to me...but who knows) or Shuu-kun...but hell, he looks like he's heading for a fall himself, with Ginza-girlfriend, while she looks like she's got it bad for him as well...ah well...now, onto the manga.
The ending at least, revealed that the cute apartment building was saved thanks to Mama-chan's decision...all in all, I really enjoyed this one. A unique and cute story, with great characters, funny moments and sweet ones, as well. Loved the OP and the ED. Became all time favorite and I will eventually, marathon all 11 episodes in one sitting...

I agree with you. The ending ain't the best. It looks like we need another season (which ain't bad ). Hmm, i would say that this series is an 8.5 out of 10. This series revolves around romance, the group of girls of the apartment building and the saviour of the building and since we don't get a clear answer of the romance it misses something (i would have loved to see Tsukimi happy with someone..She is so nice.)

I don't think she'll win. He is way better than her. Tsukimi and Kurako are still my preferable couple though. Even if Kurako hasn't been nice to some of his previous (girl)friends. I wonder if they will give this series an ending with either one as the new boyfriend of Tsukimi. I hope it will.

Who knows if Tsukimi even looks at Kuro-kun with anything other than friendship...she admires his male beauty and that's it. We are 10 episodes into the series and if she has not fallen for him now, I doubt she ever will...She was thinking of all kinds of jellyfish while fixing that dress, after she admired Kuro-kun's male form...so that is not love for Kuro-kun. But then again, what do I know? I mean we still see her pinning for Shuu and now, since she thinks he's with the land shark...well, she wants to return to the "lukewarm life she has been accustomed to." I want another season but maybe it will all get resolved with the Kuragame DVD Specials...
