When thirty-year-old Daikichi returns home for his grandfather's funeral he learns about the existence of Rin, his grandfather's illegitimate six-year-old daughter by an unknown mother. The girl is an embarrassment to all his relatives and is treated as an outcast. Annoyed by their attitude, Daikichi decides to take care of Rin himself, even though he is single and has no experience raising a child. As Rin becomes part of his life, Daikichi experiences the hardship of a single parent. He is befriended by the mother of Kouki Nitani, a single mother, who gives him advice on raising Rin.

I had the same though in mind, finally episode 8.5 is released and follows the part left unseen in ep. 8 from what we expected last year ^^ http://boards.fansub.tv/?act=ST&f=3&t=1027...ndpost&p=310284 ...hopefully there will be more but assuming this is the last from what we see from Usagi Drop specials I give it as well 8/10, finishing the entire series while the 11 eps. for TV gets 9/10 as final score (happy ava and sig this time)

So true...and so it is. Another sweet special series comes to an end. I enjoyed these little Usagi Drop tidbits. Well done. 7/10. Won't say what happens as I do not wish to spoil anything...I will leave it to others to wrap this one up.

good thing episode 6.5 was released earlier and not until next year, for the current date this one would fit better as the previous special about Christmas but is nice to see Kouki and his cute mom again ^^ ...now the season shown here is spring celebrating the falling cherry blossoms holiday so we can expect the last ep. about summer, until it's subbed then I'll decide the final score according the TV series and another for the specials (high ones of course)

I agree...a cute episode. I read on another forum I visit, the next two are due out in 2012...looking forward to them as well. If they keep it sweet and not delve into the controversial ending from the manga then I am in...otherwise, no thanks.
An after thought...the cute addition to Rin-chan's stuffed collection resembled her a bit when she smiles...

I hope the anime series continues after the live action, it's really worth a second or more seasons until they finish the whole story... as many people didn't like how the manga ended the final episodes could be OVAs or a movie when Rin is like 15 years old and Daikichi is in his 40s, finishing the TV series before that happens
