Except for the point that the glasses-guy was already wastes everything went according to how I thought it would. And it was nice seeing Narumi finally going on a rampage he really needed and deserved.

Overall a great series. The storys were interesting and, unlike in Gosick, solveable by oneself. Sure they werent difficult but I rather have it like this than just getting solutions thrown at me without any proof to back it up like in Gosick.

Castwise it was ok. Nothing really bad but nothing great either. But nowadays that alone is a success already in my eyes.

I really hope we get to see more of this franchise since I really enjoyed watching this show.

A 9/10 from me.

Kami-sama no Memo-chou, a show based off the light novel of the same name. The only reason why this show received an anime adaptation so soon is because as of the 6th light novel, it ranked top 10 in numbers sold in Japan. Most light novels receive an anime adaptation shortly following these rankings.

The show follows NEET detective Alice and her group of lackeys, none of which have very memorable names. Narumi, is a normal high school student who stumbles upon this detective when he becomes in an incident. Since then, Narumi has become Alice's "assistant" to solve the society problems externally while Alice does everything else behind the scenes.

Now for a plot....what plot? It's an unfinished source material so it's hard to say what people were really expecting out of this show. The first thing that comes to mind for most people is GOSICK, which finished just prior to the airing of this show, and thus I've already heard a lot of harsh critiques over Kami sama no Memo-chou as a poor "follow-up." Had the airings been reversed, I'm sure the results would have been vastly different. Putting GOSICK aside, however, I will say that this show lacked good "mystery" for a "mystery" show. The incidents were all very predictable and easy to solve. The first incident in the one hour special was really the best one for the 12 episode show, but even then it was rather obvious. In addition, the show didn't really have a direction except that Narumi gradually became more "confident" in being Alice's assistant. All in all, the plot felt more of a character introduction/build-up more than anything else. If anything this show felt like a setup for what's to come as the light novel progresses, but as a preliminary series it  really falls short.

Animation was pretty decent from J.C. Staff. While I was hoping they would stick closer to the quality for the OP/ED themes in the actual episodes themselves, they were at least of respectable quality compared to some of their more recent works. Probably one of the better aspects of this show though. Liked the PV

Music was awesome, probably one of the better pairs this season. OP theme is by Nico Nico singer Choucho and the main ED theme is by Kenichi Suzumura...The first ED theme was a rather "what the heck" moment where I had no idea what the staff was thinking putting in such a random song. Seiyuu was good, especially Yui Ogura as Alice. Really fits her age and role perfectly.

Enjoyment? I liked the fluff of the show, but I didn't like the content is really the best way to describe it. The mysteries, as said before, are pretty poor and dull. You really didn't need a NEET detective to solve this unless they're playing with the idea that Alice and co are as dumb as truly uneducated people. The show really lost me by the time we hit [s]Shinn Asuka's[/b] Renji Hirasaka's arc.

Overall, knowing J.C. Staff, this show will probably get a second season once more material is out. With Shana and Zero no Tsukaima finishing up, J.C. Staff is going to need more continuous projects to keep their boat floating. Granted that they still have Index, Railgun, and Bakuman, I could see this potentially being good in the long-run but these 12 episodes left a bad after-taste. Poor timing to release series in various aspects.

Preliminary Score: 8/10
Final Score: 7/10

Unsurprisingly Ayaka didnt die. And it really goes the way I predicted it.
After knowing what she is doing for her brother she confronted him in the greenhouse. He went nuts and gave her Angel Fix and she jumped because of it. and maybe the drug made her survive the jump after all drugs can make you tougher and since we dont exaclty know what he drugs do that could be possible.

Ok with epsiode 11 it pretty much explains on why she did it now also it looks like Narumi is now the Hourai NEET's Asistant here. In any case it kind of shows that he has the ability to be a detective with his theoretical train of thought while the Hourai NEET tends to track things that are found online and whatnot.

So put those two parts together and you have one great detective group of course.

Also, for those who thought she was dead last epsidoe, apparently she's kind of in a comatose state for now. Also, it kind of explains why she did it at the school along with what she was doing without knowing full well on what she was doing in the first place.

Now this is something else...Why? Hopefully she ain't really dead..
I agree with Wedora. This could have been handled better.

reeks of shock factor over real plot development. Although, I guess that's nothing too unexpected with this series. It reminds me of a chick flick...its trying to be realistic, while at the same time using completely preposterous scenarios. Makes you want to punch a kitten.

Dead... Seriously hope not.

On a side note, according to sources something different happens in the printed version. Otherwise I have a bad time picking out characters as a favorite only for them to die a short while later.

WTF just happened at the end? She killed herself? Why? There was no reason to be seen why she would do it.
But it hit home for me since a few months back someone in my company killed himself too and just like Ayaka he was someone you never wouldve thought he would do something like that.
If she killed herself what I dont belive. I think her brother killed her because she annoyed him further.
But if she did I hope we get a proper explanation why she did it.

Ok after seeing epsidoe 10 I can sort of see why things ended up that way since everyone kept her out of the loop about her brother for the entire epsidoe and tried to hide the whole ordeal. It kind of sucks on how things took a quick turn like that.

Holy crap...the ending of ep 10

That was really unexpected. Almost too unexpected. I don't think it was handled very well, to be honest. Lets hope the next two episodes clear it up properly so we can get some proper understanding of what happened outside the character's limited points of view.
