A little late on the band wagon here but finally managed to finish Mayo Chiki!

Mayo Chiki! started off with some decent potential that added a twist to your stereotypical high school romantic comedy harem title. That twist is the main heroine must not only hide her gender but is also therefore a reverse trap. In addition, the male protagonist also has gynophobia. Story wise, the show seemed to have advanced quite a bit, in fact getting further than what most titles of the same genre do nowadays. The fact that we got a kiss scene along with a variety of mutual love moments between Jirou and Subaru is quite the development in 12 episodes. Furthermore, as far as I'm concerned, episode 13 doesn't exist.

Animation wise is okay for feel. I saw better quality in Yosuga no Sora last year. Art also felt cheap for the most part. Probably not the best aspect of the show overall, but I really wasn't expecting much from this show to begin with anyways.

Music was rather decent for this show. OP/ED were also decent and seiyuus cast for this show

Enjoyment? Fair overall. Not something I particularly looked forward to every week, but certainly one of the better summer titles and it's a shame I put off the "last" episode until now since episode 12 was definitely good.

Overall, The show started off with potential, flat lined a little bit and then managed to at least provide a meaningful ending. Whether or not the series will get a sequel remains to be seen but I'm pretty happy with the progress made in the story as well as the development of the characters given the short time.

Preliminary Score: 7/10
Final Score: 7/10

No more episodes as of now, that could always change in the future depending on DVD sales. If you are hungry for more Mayo Chiki, try to find some translations of the light novel if there are any floating around...

What the hell was this for a ending? Dont misunderstand me, the ep itself was good but as the last one? They couldve air it somewhere in between and let it end with ep 12.

This series started pretty strong (a great first ep) but fell apart midway since it was always the same procedure. Not even additional characters really made a difference.
And it was disappointing that the truth about Subaru didnt come out for everyone.
The other disappointment is that Jirous and Kurehas mother didnt appear has I hoped to.

Overall this series feels unfinished.

A 7/10 from me.

Ok for episode 13 I have to say I liked how Nakuru pretty much took the time out to pester Jirou-kun all because she happened to be rather busty and became self concious about it. Still i thought they looked like fox ears over cat ears there. Never the less it pretty much ended like there was going to be more down the line, but for it to end like this makes me feel a bit let down mind you. I mean they have more to work with here so hopefully there will be a second season in the end of things.

Do this epsidoe pretty much was dedicated to Jiro-kun's imouto it seems.

the 13th one was more about Nakuru falling for Jirou, her first date him, some "business" selling Subaru's pics and a classmate who confessed to her in the past before using cat ears and glasses... hilarious episode but lame final telling by the lack of preview for the next one and sites say only 13 this season (if there is a 2nd, that is), oh well 7/10 from me

Also, cameo appearances for this epsidoe were the Kampher poster, the Hidan no Aria poster

funny to see Usami and Kureha cosplaying each series respectively... also a doujinshi paroding either Kaiji or Akagi @12:54, the title says "this fall zawa zawa", some dice as background and an ugly girl resemblling between Mikoko (from Kaiji) and Sawako (from Kimi ni Todoke)

Do this epsidoe pretty much was dedicated to Jiro-kun's imouto it seems. Although I'm supprised on how she recollected her previous birthdays where Jiro-kun did nice things for her up until last year of course. Although he became a very caring older brother for her.

In any case when Usagi-chan managed to get a game that was about her she should of seen that comming in the first place.

Also, cameo appearances for this epsidoe were the Kampher poster, the Hidan no Aria poster, Sadako, and of course the sisters from KissxSis again. I'm sure there's more but I'm not sure what they are from mind you.

Yeah that's probably what I was thinking on why she pulled back like that. Although for me it seems that Jirou wouldn't of minded it though... somewhat.

In any case pretty much this kind of prolongs the porturious methods that he'll go through because of her back-pedalling here.

Well my guess about the confession being backpeddaled like it was is probably due to Subaru being to embarassed over doing more than just hanging out with Jirou.

The way I see it, Subaru probably doesn't want to force her feeling onto Jirou while uncertain about how Jirou feel toward her and risk losing the relationship she already established with him as "friends".

Speaking of his nosebleeds I think he's restrainning himself to the point of where he'll colapse before dishing out a nosebleed. Although he did get one when he managed to trip into Usagi-chan and inadvertantly grope her though. So in the end it might be if a girl touches him in a pervy way now, his sister in general, and if he somehow touches a girl in a pervy matter be it intentional or not. Although when he doesn't have his glasses on it seems he can hald touching a girl for a bit beofre noticing though.
