Mar 2 2008 12:45 AM If they made any new MGLN, it would be awesome. Only problem is that it would have to have a story just as good as the others or else it will spoil the others. I donno, maybe three's a charm and they shouldnt make a new one, however I would love to see a new one if they happen to strike gold with a good story. |

As for the manga, there's the Nanoha A's and the Nanoha StrikerS manga. The manga do not duplicate the stories from the anime (unless talking about some background and settings). Nanoha A's manga fill in the 'gaps' during the timeline of A's, as well as a short story after where A's ended. As for the StrikerS manga, the stories take place after they were in high school, as well as filling in the 'gaps' for the story of StrikerS anime. However, even with the manga stories, there's still that 'blank' for the story between after Nanoha A's and they entering high school, which is one of the reason why people want a series 2.5 for filling in that 'blank timeline'. |
is it just me or does Yukari Tamura, perverted animal side kick characters and her voicing as a magical girl seem to go hand in hand?
Thanks for the info regarding the manga too. I'll definately check into it now that you've cleared up some of my confusion about it. As for the voids left over, I suppose fans of the series can only dream, pray and hope. Since I'm just starting StrikerS its hard to say from my vantage point how the series plays out so realistically I can't truthfully form an opinion on if and how another season could or would play out. All I can say is like before, I think it would be great to have a "2.5" OVA or mini-series just to ease curious minds. (and perhaps explain the "friendship" aspect between Nano-ate ) However, for now, thanks again for the info and I'll more than likely continue further posts in StrikerS after I finish watching the series.

As for the manga, I haven't tracked them down yet. I've always watched the animes first then read the mangas after because for some reason if I do the opposite, I tend to feel the series was already spoiled for me. I'm really interested in reading them though after I finish StrikerS.
As for a season 4, I suppose I'm wishing like the rest of the people here. It would definately be nice to have another season based on what I've watched so far. |

I'm a longtime Nanoha veteran, and to my knowledge there's no A's manga (not an official one, anyway); I've only seen that for StrikerS. If there is for this 2nd series, then mayhaps it's an obscure publication produced sometime after the 3rd series. The only thing resembling a manga has been a set of parody 4-koma that you've probably seen already. |
so does the manga pick up from where "A" leaves off and go into StrikerS? or does it start off from where the first season starts and then skip ahead to StrikerS? I wouldn't mind starting on them if there's volumes before diving into the StrikerS storyline. I really prefer reading them after watching the series so I can either fill in the gaps that the anime misses, see where they changed the story, and clear up things that the anime leaves hanging.
I suppose I could search and look, however its almost 5am here and I'm about to fall asleep while typing

And yea...so many Lyrical Nanoha fans wishing that if they are to make series 4, better making it series 2.5 (as in between A's and StrikerS).
In case you haven't picked up the hints already, Nanoha and Fate are 'couple'. It's not fans being delusional, cause even Tamura Yukari confirmed that fact by randomly burst out "Nanoha-chan and Fate-chan are husband and wife!!" on a talk show, and the host was like "Na..noha-chan? Fate...chan? Who the heck are they?" lmao
'Fate T. Takamachi'...sound nice doesn't it? lol |
I more or less started getting that feeling with how much emotion was placed between the two of them. IMO it more or less helped put aside any real love story between anyone in particular that would of distracted from the actual story plot, which was more enjoyable since I was more interested in what was happening and what was going to happen next. well.... I suppose love between friends is a wonderful thing....
It seemed though that at points, and I think Amy hinted at it a few times (I forgot which episode) that Yunno-kun was interested in Nanoha. Though I've only begun watching StrikerS I dunno if anything else evolved from that little question. It was kinda odd though that after she found out Yunno-kun actually had a human form she didn't make a bigger deal out of it. After all she did change in front of him and was even naked in front of him when they went to the hot springs

I think I've brought up that point about what the 4th series should be if there was one several times It would probably be an OVA if you ask me since there's really not much to cover. Unless, the staff manages to pull off another ridiculous and awesome story like in A's.
As for Yukari Tamura blurting that fact, boy do I remember that |

I know they probably did it since they only had one season left to work with, however it would of been nice to see them in high school then afterwards. When I saw the ending in Episode 13, I had hopes it would be the case. Never the less, I'm looking forward to watching the third installment in this trilogy. Far be it for me to be excited about a Magical Girl series (since usually I'm not) however this series really grew on me and I really want to see how the three (Nanoha, Fate and Hayate) turn out. |

Mar 1 2008 03:07 AM I finally got through the first series and now the "A" series, and I was pretty amazed at how well they pulled of the entire "magical girl" concept. A habit of mine is once I enjoy a certain voice actor/actress, I look up other animes they've done and watch them. Seeing as I enjoyed Yukari Tamura's innocent voice in Moetan, and after clicking through her website, I decided to pick up the first two series and see how well I could enjoy it. The storyline through both first and second series are rock solid. Any of you've watched Moetan, you can automatically pick up the resemblance in voices when Nanoha goes "ehh!?!?!" or when reacting to Yunno-kun. I found Fate-chan's character a very compatible rival and counter-balance to Nanoha as well. I particularly liked how the artists created her. A dark mage that represents the "bad guy" and at the same time made her soft, graceful and even friendly, though she's the opposing figure through the first series and then a friend in the second. It was very refreshing to see her echo the words she spoke to Nanoha at the end of the first series too; That all Nanoha had to do was call her name and the next time Fate would be the one to save her. It was nice touch IMO. I also particularly found Fate's transformation sequence completely stunning after Bardiche was upgraded in Episode 4. (Nanoha's sequence was far better in the "A" series too after the Raging Heart upgrade, however Fate's completely blew me away.) They did a great job on story building and character building through their friendship, focusing upon Hayate's situation, her character building, and building upon the unknown conflict between Nanoha/Fate and the Knights as well. Perhaps one of the greatest strengths of the first two series is the fact you can feel, you've experienced, and the story allows the viewer to grow as each character is revealed to you. They probably didn't dive as deeply into the Knight's former experiences with prior masters, however they reflected upon their past and the meeting between them and Hayate enough to form a bridge to understand how they came to be and why they're pursuing their goals. I also found Hayate's strength and resolve very inspiring. Considering her condition and how she could of just given up, her determination really earned her a place within the series itself and to me justified the amount of time the "A" series focused on her. It's a bit disappointing to me that they decided to jump so far into the future with the StrikerS series. I know they probably did it since they only had one season left to work with, however it would of been nice to see them in high school then afterwards. Sep 28 2007 06:44 AM Heyas, "Magical Girl Lyrical Vivio"?: (user posted image) IIIIIIIIIIINTERESTING. Especially when you consider that not long after "MGLNA's" finished, THIS pic appeared on the 'Net, mentioning a "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha S".: (user posted image) Then of course, later in 2006 it was confirmed that there WOULD be a 3rd series, "MGLNStrikerS". So, considering the above facts, if you put 2 & 2 together, mayhaps we'll get 4 - as in a 4th series?! |
