A girl wrapped in white, her name is Momo...in her hand lies a blunt yet shiny scythe. By her side is a wingged black cat by the name of Daniel. Carrying the souls of humans, the girl's existence parallels to that of a "Death God" or "Shinigami". At the instant when this white Death God touches the hearts of humans, the world is filled with kindness and grief...

The anime consists of heartwarming one-shot stories.

Whoa, old thread is old...

But I finally got around to seeing this short anime. I remember hearing about it way back around when I first joined FTV two years ago, but never watched it for some reason. It took me a bit of trouble to acquire the subs for this series too, but I finally got them.

In all, the series was pretty mediocre. It not only could have been longer, but I feel it could have focused on Momo a lot more than it did. In comparison, Shigofumi does a much better job by keeping Fumika as the main attraction, while in Shinigami no Ballad Momo is kind of a side character since you don't even see her that much in the anime. But oh well, I guess that's either how the novels are written, or it's just a bad adaptation of the novels. Now, while I say that it was pretty mediocre, I still think that it was worthwhile. Episodes 3, 4, and 6 were better than 1, 2, and 5 I thought.

And with that, I have gotten interested in this series. I been doing some minor research over the past few days on it, and the first novel will be available in English this month, so if you liked the anime, I'd suggest you may want to pick it up. I think I will, at least to see if there's any clear difference between the anime and the novels in terms of style and atmosphere.

I couldn't understand why Shinigami no Ballad, an anime which finished last year, was being advertised as a new release so I did a bit of research ...

This year the drama (live action) version of Shinigami no Ballad aired in Japan.

I am really interested to see how this series of stories has been adapted. Also, I wonder at the fact that the anime only had 6 episodes whereas the drama has 12. What new stories have been added? The anime was based on a light novel by K-ske Hasegawa so perhaps there was material that was never used for the anime.

The cat adds real life to the show !! hes by far my favorite !!! And he talks a lot to with sarcasm hehehe

She is a different shinigami than those in other series in that she seems to really care for those that shes around !! Watch and you will see the mysteries unravel

I liked this show. It is like they will let see people see what happens in normal days. The ending was in my eyes pretty. It is mostly that some of you want a ending that blow the roof off the house. Sometimes a slow paced anime can be relaxing. Like Binchou-Tan it is almost the same type of Anime. But then everybody got his / her own way to express the way they see a anime.

Holy shit, this was enough to make a sane person suicidal, or a depressed person go through with it.

Buuu, that wasnt an ending, if theres a 2nd season it´ll be good if they go deeper with Momo reasons and stuff, but this ending was crap, another normal chapter
