This anime is based on a TV drama, �NIGHT HEAD�, aired in 1992.

Two brothers, Kihiraha Naoto and Kirihara Naoya have supernatural power. Because of their power, they ware abandoned by their parents, and they have been raised in a laboratory isolated from societies. When they run away from the laboratory and get into a normal society, the trend of revolution occur.

I havent watched that far but there are many theories (or better hypothesis) that with the full energical awakening of our potential our structure is overload with energie and we get the effect of the infamous selfinduced spontanous burning. here are also many esoteric people who have experienced vanishing from this plain for some time. Believe it or not. But I see this possibility since I have experienced some fucked up weid stuff I never would have believed before...

I read what you said about energy (cannot be created or destroyed) which is widely accepted to be true.
It can, however, be changed. As exampled by Naoto moving the minus energy from the earthquake
So... if you're saying using supernatural power requires energy (as we have seen when naoto or naoya use their gifts) then where does it come from? "normal" people get energy from food... but what if so much energy is needed for the brain to use supernatural powers it cannot be provided fast enough by food?
The body is made up of many, many bonds between atoms. In each bond an amount of energy is stored - so, even though breaking bonds requires energy, energy is produced.
If this energy is used up, as has been suggested, then it is energetically unfavourable for the bonds to reassemble, and therefore the previous object (The person) would cease to exist as we know it and would essentially become free atoms in air, which would combine to simple forms like carbon dioxide and water. (I'm a chemist )

[edit] watched the last few eps now. This anime has impressed me more than anything I've ever seen or read. ever.
ALSO in ancient Mayan drawings on stone posts, there are depictions of WHAT LOOK LIKE men in space suits, which would lend credence to the theory that ancient man was at least helped by extra-terrestrial beings or even time travellers. The Mayans are not the only ones to engrave such images. This anime is very clever.

Hello! I've just picked up this series out of sheer curiosity simply because it's broacast by the same people who do Bakumatsu (I looove this one). I've watched the first two episodes and they look very promising...

What I mean by dispersing is that the atoms aren't disappearing, they're just... separating. Like the theory behind teleportation. The particles dissemble, but instead of reassembling like they would in teleporting, they remain apart.

And, it's an anime xD There are as many theories on how humans got here as how the universe began. It's just a fictional story wherein they've taken a particular theory and made it reality inside the anime. It's no worse than mythological stories or folk tales...
