A.D. 2079, mysterious mechanical cellar cluster begins �Human Being Sweep Operation�. After two years� war, the human begins becomes outnumbered by the cluster, and they finally decide to use the ultimate weapon. Sacrificing their continent, they managed to eliminate the enemy. However, it costs them very much. Most of the continents are split, Antarctica disappears, and 50% of the lands sink under the sea.

Three years later, the enemy cluster that is supposed to disappear is found out from the Midway. To identify them, an aircraft carrier, Koryu, leaves a Japanese port secretly. Koryu carries three fighters designed by innovative idea of Japanese Navy. They are Aviation Exoskelton Sky Diver, Reijin, Fujin, and Raijin. The pilots of these fighters are young girls called Sky Girls, Sakurano Otoha, Sonomiya Kren, and Ichijo Eika.

It�s time to fly into the air carrying the future and dreams of the human beings.

U know whats funny? That the sonic diver pilot's (Otoha, Karen, Ichijo) Motion slits are standard with different colors, and the sonic diver rescue wing motion slits are custom?

I believe she's wearing something that barely covers her feminine lower bits as well. At least the others in the picture are wearing something that look more traditional. I like the china dress one, as well as the princess-looking one. It's like they're giving the suits themes now.

It was the only nit-pick I had for the entire episode, since once I saw her I was constantly thinking, "Is she really wearing just an apron and a piece of string?"

Yeah that order is fine, but you could watch it

Commercial
Sky Girls OVA
Sky Girls Series 1 - 26
but mix the 2 specials in with the anime, thats what i did, plus i think its the only way to fully enjoy the specials

Stupid question, but what order should I watch Sky Girls -- and do I have the complete series?

I have:
* Commercial
* Sky Girls OVA
* Sky Girls 1-26
* Sky Girls specials 1 & 2

Heyas,

Just watched ep. 26, and all in all "Sky Girls" is an intriguing variation on the mecha genre (not so much mecha, more like flying exo-frames. Although I hear the designer of the Sonic Diver craft was inspired by 'Mecha Musume' art). With the creation of an extended squadron for search & rescue missions, this means there's scope for a potential 2nd series.

And of course, quite an advert for the 'Nemesis', 'Salamander' & 'Gradius' videogames with the inclusion of the Vic Viper craft too! I wouldn't be surprised if Konami brought out an updated version of these games, with selectable Sonic Diver ships (and W.O.R.M.S. as end-of-level bosses!).

The epilouge epsidoe wasn't too bad. But i felt it was too drawn out. Taking an entire epsidoe just to say good-bye was a little too long if you ask me. the last half of the episode was long enough that they could have said good-bya, while the 1st part could have been made as the ending to the final battle.

All in all sky girls gets an 8/10 from me. Could have been a 9 if the final battle had been alot better.
