You will most likely get help from ppl who would suggest good recommendations......actually not all animes are about fighting....you just have to explore more and it would be better if you could be a bit more specific on what exactly you want.

I remember watching the first 2 episodes of this series.....its pretty slow-moving but good nonetheless.

You've read all of the manga or only up to chapter 15 ??

I really liked this anime. I've also read the manga and this is also good.
Does anyone knows an anime like this one? Because most animes are about fighting and so. and I liked this one because it's a calm an easy anime and there aren't many of those.



(Sorry if my englisch is bad. I'm from the Netherlands and I'am still in school)

Seeing this series was relaxing. I could not stand most bards because of so much crap going on, loud music and the frantic yelling. I am reminded through this anime that they are low key places and I just need to find one. I also like the fact how very much of an adult cartoon it is. It took the serious things of the world and melted it away with a nice martini.

It is a good series.....several of us have enjoyed it. And the bartender and his mentors are "tender," so I see your point but I also like the way they are portrayed when dealing with forlorn folks who wander in looking for some comfort in their empty lives, by way of a "cocktail of the gods." Better yet, they come looking to have a drink or to partake of "the glass of the gods." Hope you enjoy the show! Ah.....I doubt the "barkeeps" would want you to lag behind in your studies ...but ah......enjoy it nevertheless.

Take this as you will, but I think this anime preys on people who don't know enough english. I've only seen the first episode so I cannot be an expert on the subject but it seems that they twist the english words around too much. For example, when they analyze the word 'bartender' I'm sure that you could deduce that the concatenation of the the words 'bar' and 'tender' where it refers to someone who is at the bar and being gentle (derived from 'tender') but this is highly unlikely. The actual meaning is much more straightforward and logical. [Some one who tends the bar]. Nonetheless, I'll probably be watching this because it does seem interesting and I don't feel like studying.

I think, I'm gonna try this soon, I know the plot........Kind bartender who helps out the problems of his clients/drinkers.....people said its got a relaxed mood, but I don't think I'll watch it for now......I'll wait till Lunar finishes off the series (11 episodes), currently at 9 episodes, just two more episodes left....which will probably finished subbing in about 2 weeks time.

I'll be back!!!

UPDATE: - Why mkv files...........I don't like using VLC, its so flipping hard at times, when u want to skip the OP..............I wish could get it AVI files and use REAL instead, does it only come in mkv ?

Yuki-san! When I pay a visit to the British Isles.....you must tell me where this mysterious bar is...where you work. It would be nice to have you fix me a drink, " a la Bartender." Everytime, I watch the anime, I keep forgetting to write down the ingredients for the different drinks they make. My favorite episode was when they featured the history of the Margarita.

i enjoi this series too maybe because i work in a low key bar or maybe because i love drinking weird and wonderfull cocktails. i love the fact that im finding some of the drinks that i make every day have a compelling and intresting story behind them which makes me enjoy making them more. Its just a shame that the fansub group take so long to release a new episode.

Oh, yes; they certainly do. Jack Rose, Cinderella, Grass Hopper. I'll have to try these out some time. Also, thanks to Bartender, I feel slightly compelled to find and become the odd patron of a low key bar downtown that may be a bit tucked away in an alley, or have an indistinct exterior. Romantic, I know, but I'm fond of places that can offer quiet solitude where I don't have to put up a pretentious front and relax...and maybe have a drink

Bartender is indeed a great series....still trying to play catch up but I'm glad to see that more anime fans are interested....don't those drinks look yummy?
