Okay...that post I wrote a year again seems to be full of sh*t.

This anime series is based on the 2nd manga series, set 5 years after the original Tokyo Tribe manga and the storyline follows the 2nd manga series. There is a 3rd manga series for this franchise that started this year.

Anyways, I watched all 13 episodes yesterday night and today and I must say its one of the best animes I've seen for a long time....seriously.

The animation is done by Madhouse, so the style resembles Boondocks.

I swear Sleepy resembles a white Snoop Dogg....I guess I'm right on that since the mangaka, Santa Inoue, based his characters on real-life american rappers and the other lot. LOL

Okay, I've never seen any of the episodes or the manga. Its only 13 episodes and I could just catch up with this since its currently subbed up to episode 11 by KanjiSubs.....the anime finished airing back in Febuary 2007. I don't know but the animation looks really slick...I don't mind messed up things...as I'm pretty messed up.

I think the reason why Tokyo Tribe 2 is called that even though not having a prequel....probably coz the manga was called "Tokyo Tribes" and the s at the end could be flipped to read "2"....thats my best guess to why its called "Tokyo Tribe 2"....apparently, there was meant to be a Tokyo Tribe movie that was to be produced by MTV (yes...MTV ).

Anyone know where I can direct download all the released episodes apart from FTV. Thank you.

I like it as well, the rape scene was...well...disturbing to say the least, but the rest of the anime was very well done. It may be a bit graphic but it wouldn't be the first anime to test those limits, "elfin laid" for example, which i also liked. Tokyo Tribe 2 is very unique in both it's artwork and plot when compared to most other animes. Just out of curiosity since it is call Tokyo Tribe 2 was there a Tokyo Tribe 1 in either anime or manga form?

I really like this anime. The animation is really crisp and I love how they put in little cameos of things from real life (GTA, PS2, DS, Denny's, and many more thing make special cameos). The one reason I think people don't continue to watch the series is the rape scene. Even though it is quite gruesome, it only last for a couple of seconds and the rest of anime makes up for it. I'm only on episode 5, but if you haven't seen it, I really recommend it.

I got the first volume of Tokyo Tribes the manga a long time ago, and judging form screenshots it's aparently the same thing.

This series is sick, in a very negative way. The manga had all kidns of horrible things goign down and it was always very graphic and disturbing.

Basically the story can pretty much be summed up as following a group of gangbangers in a very stylized Japan. Diffferent areas of the country are controlled by different gangs, each one very ruthless. The group that thwe story follows seem to be styled after an American styled gang, hip hop themed and the such.

I really didn't like the series at all, so I didn't make the effort to know too much about it. I may peak at an ep later though to see how much got carried over, though.
