1st episode was very good! animation quality has risen a bit and the story has picked up right where it left off. I am defiantly going to keep up with this series this season.

Well the first season did have an OVA tat was originally a promo of what it could of been instead of what it was. Now for anything now relate to the second season should be posted in it's respective thread from now on, ok guys?

From what I am seeing, this is not an OVA. It's called Strike Witches 2: Into the Sky Once More.

I don't think it would be a spoiler if I were to say it continues directly from the first season. See last section of the last episode of Strike Witches season one to understand what I mean.

Season 2 is out. It looks to be more of the same. Little girls in various scantily clad states of under pants with long shirts on. First episode brings the new plot line on board straight away.

This was pretty much a promo of the seires and what they were hoping to have for the series it seemed. From the looks of things the idea was to have animal familiars with them. Also, by the looks of things it felt more along the line of focusing more on the fights then the panty shots.

Well I'm only saying that since I saw the series, but the first 10 were of DVD standards. So it was more then just pantyshots, but never the less it was nice to see that they tried to do something that wasn't related to what they actually did though.

As for the chibi moments in the OVA it basically explained the original idea of the base and the weapons. Althoguh it seems that they kept the bath idea for the actual anime.

In any case I kind of wonder why it took so long for the OVA to come out in the first place?

I think it was a short video the animators used to sell the show to a network or producer or whoever. That was neat, but the rest of the video's chibi blah-blah wasn't worth watching.
