Set in 19th century France, Les Misérables - Shoujo Cosette is based on Victor Hugo’s novel but places the emphasis on the character of Cosette who is Fantine’s daughter. As a single mother, Fantine discovers that it is impossible to find work so she leaves her daughter with the Thénardiers. She is unaware that they pocket the money that she has given them for Cosette’s care and treat her child little better than a slave. Fantine finds a job at Mayor Madeleine’s factory while Cosette is forced to ceaselessly work at the Thénardiers inn. It becomes apparent that Mayor Madeleine has a secret past.


I watched the first episode and wrote this description but I doubt that they can really do justice to Victor Hugo’s complex and multifaceted novel. At least Les Misérables will be introduced to yet another generation who may seek out the novel and enjoy the original text.

just found this forum while i was googling vor some Les miserables screenshots,
and hey i'm in a good mood today, so i wanted to let you know that there is a group who subs this anime in the moment.

just visit the animesuki site and search there for les miserables to find the torrent tracker,
or google the fan sub group "aoi-anime"

they have subbed till ep 17 yet,
and while certainly continue their work!

There are no english subs past episode 7 or so. The rest are possibly still available RAW but that is VERY unlikely. I have all the RAWs because I knew it wouldn't get fully subbed as the groups that did pick it up were far behind and not very devoted to the series.

That being said if you can understand chinese there may be quite a few places you can see some of the other episodes. Unfortunately for the other 99% of us RAWs will have to suffice.

well i stil can't use time traveling but who knows maybe asahina-san will teach me:(ok this was a bit off topic)i still haven't watched ep 1 but i kinda don't have much time these days(man i realy hate homework well but still i do it so my grades are very good:D)so perhapse i'll watch it today but first there are othere series i MUST watch(i mean new eps and such)

There are 52 episodes? wow, we got a long way to go especially for those who couldnt watch raws. Ive never read the book nor seen the play but is this a tragic story? Pardon my ignorance. lol

No, it says Feb 9th. But luckily it's 2008 now and that says 2007. lol. No time traveling for skyfighter and/or firechick.

I stopped watching this one coz of the same reason, no one was subbing it. This really reminds me of those old animes like Princess Sarah and Cedie. I was waiting for someone to sub those, too. lol.
I like really like this anime. This is one of those animes that you just want to sit down in a nice couch with warm blanket and a cup of tea. Bleh, don't forget to get a box of tissue coz it'll prolly make you cry.

side note: Is it just me or the quote of firechick in skyfighter's date is Feb9?? its only the 6th. lol

Episodes 1-7 are out with subtitles if you don't mind watching subs from multiple groups but japan has already seen the end which is episode 52. Formula is starting to get back into subbing this show but it will probably be a while before we see anything new since they are going back and resubbing the episodes that they missed since they started subbing it at episode 6 and then did 5,7,1(or something like that).

The show is really great so if anyone likes shows that happen in the depression era you may want to watch it. Now that subs will be coming out more regularly I'm hoping that it will attract a bigger audience than there was before.

if u can't view mkv format than u can download vlc player it's free:D and so how many eps are out recently i watched the show les miserable in the teather(and next year in school we'll be doing so much on that novel well but that's not important )the story is good i'm goin to download ep 1

It seems Formula Sub is starting to get more people to help them sub Les Miserables. Yay! But one thing. Why doesn't anyone let us post episodes of this on places like YouTube, Veoh or Crunchyroll?
