True that Cologne is played by a male player, but I doubt he is a middle-age otaku since the way 'she' talks she used 'boku' not 'ore'. The use of 'boku' indicate that he should be no older than in the teens...if he had any intention of trying to hide her true gender or is not of young age, she would not have used 'boku' to refer to herself at the first place
For all we know, the player of Cologne could be a boy which look like a bishoujo (pretty girl) like Mizuho of 'Otome Wa Boku Ni Koishiteru'
P.S. Oh crap!! I just tried to watch episode 2 and it won't play properly as well!! The whole video is in orange, yellow, green colour! I had other video with the similar problem as well, which I had no problem playing in the pass. I'm guessing it's either some of the codec we installed fxcked it up, or may be it was Windows update that fxcked it up...
Edited: I just downloaded and installed the 'WMV3 codec for Windows Media Player 7.1 and later', and the problem is solved! If anyone else have the same problem (who is using probably Windows), go to this page here and download the codec:
