After Saruwatari Gorou and Jack F. Woodbridge (Lostman) conquer Mt. Everest, the worlds highest peak, they immediately seek their next challenge. Upon seeing a space station, they decide to become astronauts. Their new goal is to reach the ISS (International Space Station) for, as Lostman states, “there is no limit in outer space”. On the moon, a new source of energy has been discovered. Helium 3 can provide humankind with enough energy for the next thousand years. NASA announces a new project, NEXUS, which will harness this resource and this provides new opportunities for people to work in space. Lostman, a pilot, and Gorou, a construction worker, follow different paths in an attempt to realize their dream and join the space programme.

There have been "rumblings" that season three will start some time this year... here's hoping.... At season two's end, the plot was already fully in motion, and it was getting REALLY good.

I just finished season I last night and it sure left me wanting more. Loved the characters, the animation style of the space stations, the moon and the vast deep realm that is space itself. My favorite character is Goro. I am not sure how to take Lostman at the moment since he seems to have gone over to the "darkside." Time in space will tell. Plan to start season II sometime next week.
8/10 for season I.

I think the reason fandom waned was because it was interrupted by the tsunami, last year. Fortunately, the last episode of the second season had completed and aired, but season 3 seems to be on a kind-of indefinite hold . I've heard it recommended very strongly when it just kicked off, but after that the series and its remaining fandom - if any - vanished from my radar. Maybe I'll watch it one day.

The reason I'm posting though, is to bring your attention to something vaguely similar that will air this spring: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encycloped...me.php?id=13890

Well, after I get more into the story, Aus-san, I will drop you a line and let you know as to how it goes...I already made a thread (thanks, anyway) for the new series that will air soon and I look forward to it. In fact, t'was that picture of the two brothers that reminded me of Moonlight Mile and thus my now watching it. Glad for it. 8/10 so far.

This is one anime series I had been wanting to watch for a while now. Now, that I have a little free time well, guess what? I watched episode one last night and really enjoyed it. Beautifully animated, mysterious goings on on the dark side of the moon (am sure I will find out later as to why but can already guess) Lostman and Gorou are gonna be fun to follow as they now traverse towards space after "mounting" Mt. Everest.
I see some old friends watched this back in the day...seems they liked it although this thread died soon enough and well, I may be back after I wrap up season one and start on season two. Anyway, a space series with political machinations and sex and intrigue will suit me just fine.

I don't know if anybody's noticed, but the second aired this week in Japan. I watched the raws on Friday. I must say, the animation, art, voice acting, and plot are still high quality. Has anybody else seen the raws for the first episode of the second season?

This second half doesn't disappoint. And, there is a hint of political turmoil from the opener and ending of the first episode with the display of a Chinese missile and General.
