Ah well I just finished off Hana Kimi (J-Version) and it was ridiculous funny. The kind of funny that your like eh wtf why am I laughing at this extremely retarded scene but I can't stop roflmao. I'll just say that one character stood out and owned and that was Nakatsu. Sure, there were other characters who's comedy was nothing to sneeze out, but w/out Nakatsu the show wouldn't have had the legs to stand on. I won't get into the whole love angle because it was clearly obvious who was going to lose, but I will say this Nakatsu is NOT A HOMO! I think unsure.gif haha. Sano umm hmm well he is what I like to refer to as the japanese teen king of angst. He was hard to root for from my standpoint and it probably didn't help that I had to watch that same shot of him high jumping a gazillion times rolleyes.gif wooh! yea that never got old XD.

I kind of found Ashiya to be disturbingly attractive throughout. Luckily she was a girl. I'm not a homo! Heyo *thumbs up to an imaginary Nakatsu* cool.gif I will admit that she got a bit annoying stalking and pestering Sano at every turn but ah well I'm not gonna hate on her the writers made her do it heheh ya. Oh yeah plus Ashiya looked scrumptious in that final scene. ITADAKIMASU! uh-hum... well suffice to say it left me with a GOOD AURA. Well I guess that's all he wrote but the whole shampoo borrowing thing... NANI?!

I hope that they'll do a 2 or 3 episode special where the boys come to visit Mizuki in America. The last episode really implied that they could do a sequel. There isn't any actual manga material for the producers to use, but the live action didn't really stick to the manga anyhow.

I watched the Taiwanese version (Filipino dubbed on one of the TV stations here biggrin.gif). I can say that I really like the Japanese version better. A lot of the people like the Japanese version better because they say that the Taiwanese version lacked something and I figured it out for myself... it was Ikuto Toma! Seriously, the reason why I was so addicted to this was because of Nakatsu and his blahness in the Taiwanese version disappointed me. And they way that they made this more of a comedy in the Japanese version because of the outrageousness of the situations made it much more enjoyable whereas in the Taiwanese version, they are so focused on the emo guy, it made me kinda sad.

Anyway, is there any news on when the special will air???

i actually preferred natzuki. izumi can be quite so annoying. oh and that rival of izumi from the other school, is it me or what, but the dorama seemingly portrayed him to be sorta fond of izumi (a-bit gay-ish).

dont know what is it in the manga.

I've just reached episode 8 in this ( watched 5 eps today alone!), man this show is so cool!

Nakatsu is by far my fav. character, i just burst out laughing whenevr he puts on a stupid expression ( especially when is randomly spits out water - beginning of episode 8). After just watching my boss my hero and now this, i kinda dont wanna move onto anything more serious! Hopefully Kurosagi wont be too depressing ( thats my next one).

There's gonna be a Hana-Kimi Special (J-dorama version) coming soon.

Synopsis: -

The special will take place half a year after the series' end. With Osaka Gakuen getting ready for an upcoming Valentine's Day event, Sano and Nakatsu reflect on the final week of their last summer vacation, which falls into the timeline of the original series between episodes 7 and 8. The special also includes a graduation scene and addresses the relationship between Mizuki and Sano.

Thanks for this too, JCD & poonk! This is much appreciated... biggrin.gif

I hope they're good too... I really liked the j-drama version - especially the cast and hopefully, not too many changes.

I think the script was written in a manner that would inevitably favor Nakatsu -- i.e. it's the role that outshone the 'correct' love interest, not the actor. The combination of Nakatsu's adorable love-struck antics, plus with Sano's opaque character (compared to the manga, anyway, where his personal feelings were expressed more fully on the sidelines) resulted in a double-punch against Sano's likability. Sano is much more doki-doki worthy in the manga.

At first, I thought it was the actor being cute that made me like him so much, but I started watching the Honey and Clover drama too, and Takemoto doesn't elicit the same reaction at all.

Well, the actors may have a factor in it. I'm not too into the actor who played Sano. See? I don't even remember his name... biggrin.gif Anyway, the reason why I liked Nakatsu better than him (and this is the j-drama version not the manga because I haven't read it yet.) was because he was fully prepared to be gay because he was THAT in love. It's cute.
