Apr 12 2009 09:14 AM No, it ain't ecchi. I can relate to the comments about this series. Either you like it or you don't. I must say i liked the first season better than this season. But all the same i still find this series entertaining enough (hell, i find it better than a lot of other series this spring...for example K-on and Shangri-la..(i hope i just didn't offend a lot of other anime watchers ))
the drawing and plot are alright but the story is really not that great and I cant stand the blonde one with the super tan skin. Its one of the shows that starts getting kinda serious then breaks it up with awkward comedy that really doesnt roll with the show kinda like rosario + vampire second season. scratch rosario I meant to say Kemeko Dx! Rosario + vampire second season wasnt that great either felt like alot of filling episodes and the same repetative plot over and over

Even I don't understand why nice animes like Sayonara Zetsubou sensei and Himawari is taking so much time for subbers to sub when crap animes like Ameineidayo and all get subbed on time. Really frustrating.
Because animes like Himawari (aside from SZS/ZSZS) are under-rated both in Japan and the fansub community. There isn't enough fansubbers or fans that like it enough to sub it. And in Japan it targets ONLY fans of particular seiyuu/singers or the manga fanatics. On another case, Himawari is of the same genre as Naruto, and people prefer that over Himawari - as its more entertaining and has a broad storyline.
Note: eufonius sang the ED for both seasons, and now is openly known because of her performance on True Tears' OP. While, Matsumoto Kana only voiced (as Himawari) in the Himawari series'.
I fell in love with the anime, when I heard Hirano Aya starred in it (as Shikimi), thus since I had the chance, started subbing it with the team from ray=out.

Jul 7 2008 01:33 AM Oh man I was browsing the web and came across a mention of Himawari season two. I was like wait a minute, I saw season one back in 2006 I think, and had been waiting to watch the next season. It totally fell under my radar and I was shocked to see the first eppy was subbed in December 2007.
So I'm going to look for a place to download the season season and find out that no one has even finished subbing it yet. The series was over in March 2007?! Man talk about no love for Himawari!! Guess I can kick back and wait patiently for that batch I thought I was about to download just now.
Note the amount of exclamation marks in the title give the difference in which season of Himawari this is referring to.
First, I have to say I'm excited that someone is going to sub the second season (as it has been out here for a while now).
However, why is someone subbing the second season when no sub group has even completed the first season!?!?!?!?!
I really do love this anime series and I wish someone would finish the first season. There was only 5 more episodes to be subbed!!! (8 of 13 subbed). AHHH
As for the episodes that were subbed thank you fan sub groups for subbing them. You did a good job and I enjoyed them thoroughly. (But please finish now lol)

I'm just glad that they do sub the series . I liked the first series and was glad to see a second season. Even if it takes a long time for them to sub the series, i am still glad that they do . Their subs are very good and good work always takes time .
Uhh i remember watching the first 4 episodes of season one. ALONG time ago. but no1 ever finished subbing. am i wrong? did sum1 sub 5-13? if so can you tell me what group?

Mar 20 2008 10:05 AM Did they drop the project for subbing them? cause all 13 episodes (RAW of course) have been out for quite a while now and the last episode someone subbed was the 2nd one on Feb. 24th.
The first season was quite good, i really didn't expect that to happen at first but fell in love with it right after episode 1. It has everything, action, comedy, romance, drama and cute girls. i wonder why GNU or anyother fansubbers didn't try to sub the 2nd season. It looks promising from what i've seen so far and like you said Finder_Seraph, it picks up nicely after the 1st season. As of the Tsukiyohime case, i wonder if it's a good thing.
I really do hope that the girl who had a choco battle with Himawari for Hayato-dono's affection will return in season 2, she was quite cute and entertainning. And for the genius, i don't really mind for him to comeback, but i'm not that hyped up for him.
Oh and finaly, was anybody shocked to find out that Azami-chan is actually a boy, she/he was my favorite and i thought she/he was the cutest... stupid bishounens
Jan 19 2008 05:34 PM i just watched the first episode of this second season. It does seem like a good continuation of a nice series. The first season was nice but compared to other anime not a real highflyer. Indeed it did have good points that were nicely pointed out by Finder_Seraph (a very nice review ). It just didn't have the attention that other anime had and so it has been neglected a bit by most (which is a shame because this series does have potential. More than some other anime that did have that attention). If you haven't watched the first series i would recommend it. just don't expect high pitched battles of ninjas but see some focus on a student who tries to become one. For this second season opening episode: Hopefully this second season focuses more on her training, battles and on the strange mark in the neck of Hayato (and the teacher). A bit more focus on the relationship between her and Hayato also would make it more interesting. So i do hope that the fansubgroup who translated this first episode is going to keep it up. It sure would make these months more interesting to watch .
