I forgot about Meg and Seron being part of the novel...I didn't recognize them. What scene/time were they shown at in the last episode? Hmm, I don't see them making it a 24-ep series talking about Meg and Seron unless there's a big storyline..maybe they'll make OVAs about them.

Meg is shown at the beginning of the last episode talking with Lillia, and then again shown as a background character with Seron when Treize transfers into Lillia's classroom.

I'm wondering if they'll eventually do a series for Meg and Seron who were shown briefly in the last episode. Maybe once enough novels have been published, as there are only three right now.

You know supprsingly after 15 half of me says do I really want to finish this series now, or just take the whole thing of my hard drive. I kind of want to know is it worth it to keep going since I never had the chance to take a break and watch it at all.

I would think maybe a 6 episode OVA would be nice. 13 episodes maybe a bit much but who knows. Unfortunately, due to the low appeal for this series, its hard to say if Meg and Seron will get an anime of their own.

As for Lillia, her thick-headed self and clumsiness were the two points that made her an awesome character for me in the second half. Treize was really just meh for me when compared to Wil or even Allison. tongue.gif

This series wasn't for everyone, as the opening posts in this thread show, but I stuck with it for the long haul, even if the subbing for the second half was much slower than the first half. I feel most of the appeal came from the first half of the series since I loved Allison's character and how she had to be the one to drag Wil around, whereas in the second part the roles were reversed with Lillia having to be constantly rescued by Treize. The change in Wil's character from the shut-in of episode one to the shoot-now-talk later of episode 11 or 12 was also very interesting to see, and I think his character changed the most of all of the characters throughout the series.

As for the parallels between the first and second half, I liked Allison much better than Lillia (who I found much weaker and annoying at times). The second half was still good, but the appeal of the series, and what I loved from the first half was more or less gone by episode 13 on. Still, the soundtrack was great and the animation was decent, and having it animated by Madhouse was a big plus I felt.

So episode 26, honestly speaking I wanted to Treize to stay dead.  It would have made the series a bit more dramatic.  I understand they want to pull the whole parallelism between Allison's arc and Lillia's arc but the fact that they don't explain how Treize survived seems a bit awkward.  That pit was deep and not to mention the train is moving at 70 km/h.  Anime defying the laws of physics is one thing, but when bringing in more of a "reality" series where very few or none of the supernatural occurs, it's better to have left those who are to die stay dead.  Sure we didn't see his body and there's that side of the argument, but think about the side where we will never know how he survived.

Nevertheless, this series was overall pretty good. Not an intense series, but character development was definitely its strongest point. It's hard to pull off an 18 year time skip properly and I'm glad they kept on bringing back stuff from Allison's arc so it didn't make it seem like that Wil and Allison were junk characters after episode 13. The parallel was also nice in terms of how each one of Allison and Lillia's arc corresponded with each other. Examples would be the second and third arc of each. Second arc both involved the kingdom Ixstova and the theft of the royal throne and the third arc both involved some occurrence on a train. (I don't remember Lillia's first arc so I can't say much). Nevertheless, this series was nice and fun to watch. Nana Mizuki as both Allison and Lillia was a huge plus as their characters were just constantly entertaining. And Lillia's ridiculously long name will simply never get old. I'd give this an overall 7/10 Not too bad, not fantastic, but worth watching if you could get past the first 5-6 episodes.

That ending thudded to the ground like a train going over a cliff at 70 MPH into a ravine with a rocky whitewater river below.

Treize survived? Yeah, right!    And then Lillia woke up.

I'd recomend people only watch the first half of the series and pass on the Lillia arc altogether.

Agreed, the first half of the series was entertaining and interesting. Also, some parts of the Lillia arc was decent.

About Treize...

Really? How did he survive the train crash? and they didn't tell you how he made it out ok. It was really dumb and they ended the show abruptly. No recap of how Treize telling Lillia who he really is and his prince life..just dancing. Wow, I wasted time waiting for ending only to find out nothing happened and that's it.

I'm a bit disappointed with the ending. It didn't seem like it was rushed but it ended abruptly. As if it was just another episode in the middle of the story that ended and now we're waiting for the next.

Hopefully, they will make a special episode or OVA that continues off where it ended, just to close up the story more properly.
