Wow I never expected the OVA to do a filler episode like that out of nowere. The only way that this would of been added is if it was frm the PS2 verison, but I highly doubt it.

So in the end I was expecting a fighting episode and we got another simple romance episode here. *sigh* I just hope that if they are still doing this in OVAs tat they would finally get to the actual end of the story like they've been hinting in the OP.

While I had nothing wrong with this episode since it had a good stand alone story that could of been a background story that was probably scrappped from the game for all we know.

So, no action in episode 2 either, unless you count a few magical blasts that didn't really do anything except partly destroy a house.

Still, I quite enjoyed this episode. A lot more than the first one at least. I think the story was an anime original, cause at least the version of the game I played didn't have anything about a girl crushing on Kuro .

Oh, and they toned down the nudity from a few minutes in the first ep to a few seconds. Not bad there Aquaplus.

Eruru was hilarious at the very end when she thought Aruru was going to end up marrying Benawi.

Oh, and the way they even further showed Hakuoro's disdain for his bureaucratic duties as emperor also had me chuckling quite a bit.

So I enjoyed it. I hope the next one does get into Iceman and explain stuff that was left out in the TV series. Oh, and there needs to be more Touka too. At least we got this shot of her sleeping ^^

I thought Urutori's fixation on the kid was lame in the game.

I thought Urutori's fixation on the kid was lame in the OVA.

Also, why didn't Oriental Light & Magic do this? The character designs and oveall animation style was a bit different from the TV series.

Anyway, I'm hoping the next OVA episodes have some fighting, or expound further upon Iceman such as Iceman's revenge by turning all the the leaders of the science facility into red jelly since they killed Mikoto and their child (if not killed, then like, abducted or something, it's been awhile). Those red jelly just seemed really random in the anime and I felt that was one scene that the anime desperately needed for coherency of what happened.

I didn't like the animation, either. It seemed too exaggerated at times.

Ok I'll agree with you on the whole Urutori fixation on the child. Even in the game it felt kind of forced that she would become so attached to the child. Not only that, but you would kind of feel a bit bad for some of the other girls in the harem that took care of the child as well. I mean the others did have some kind of attachment as well, but I guess they wanted to show the extreeme level she would take for the child I guess... all be it a poor chiose to do if you ask me.

In any case indeed they really neeed to go in depth with that part of the storyline now. I mean the game did a pretty goood job explaining that, and from what I got in the OP it feels like they will actually go ahead and do that part.

I believe only this one OVA is out yet. More will come out with later (a total of 3 OVA's are slated). Not sure what the release date is for the next 2 though.

I just watched it. It was entertaining (gotta love the fanservice FINALLY) - though I had trouble trying to remember every character and a few times went "Is that what the sounded like? o.o" I'm not sure when the OVA's are supposed to take place (the description from ANN says it continues the story...).

From ANN:
The series will continue the story of Hakuoro, the man who rises from an amnesiac past in the wilderness to lead a country. The first video story will open with the discovery of an abandoned baby in the land of Tusukuru. Hakuoro and his party get into a series of adventures to uncover the identity of the baby. The first of three volumes of the video anime series will ship on June 5, 2009.

BTW, they are not airing on TV, they're being released on DVD/BD if I'm not mistaken.

Ok I was bored an decided to make a topic for the OVA. Although I'm not sure if this should be attachec with the original thread or not.

Ok aside from that it seems that the story picks up inbetween a few major points of the storyline. If I remeber correctly it was after the point where Hakoro and the others acted as mercenaries to help liberate one of the nations.

Aside from that I was supprised that they used the exact soundtrack that was used in the visual novel itself. Because of that I feel the need to play it once again. Although the bonus to the OVA was the onsen scene with all of the ladies involved in Hakoro's harem in one way or another though. tongue.gif

In any case I'd like ot ask for confirmation to see if there was more then just the one OVA episode that was subbed. I mean relase wise of course.

Kit's Note: Decided to merge thread with original series thread]

Umm ok w/e

Hmm..how bout any OVA episodes?I mean TRC had 3 OVA episodes after "the end."

Well I haven't seen all the TRC anime, but from what I can tell from reading the manga and knowing where the anime ends, it doesn't provide an actual closing to the anime and actual stops short from the main revelations of the story, which is where Tokyo Revelations comes in.

Utawarerumono on the other hand had a real ending and covered it's source material in it's entirety for the most part.

Edit: I had forgotten about the Utawarerumono OVA that was announced a while ago, but I have heard no news about what it would be about and don't have any inkling on what they would make it about.
