Main protagonist, Teppei is taken in by his grandfather after the unfortunate death of his parents. It turns out that Teppei's grandfather is a force in the economic, high society world of Japan, and without a successor his grandfather makes him the legitimate heir.
Thus Teppei is enrolled in such a prestigious school where students all belong to the highest castes of society. Charlotte and Sylvia are princesses of their respective nations, while Seika is a daughter and renowned model of the fashion world. Yuu is Teppei's maid who serves him and goes to school with him as part of the Arima household.
Dec 19 2009 07:24 AM I've watched the first 4 episode so far and I really really like this show......its a great treat and I'm aware that this series never used its full potential but I'm still wondering how this all went wrong because its going in an excellent direction....Seika-chan is soooo cute.

I just watched up to episode 09 of this series............and this series is f**king good. I really really don't understand the hate for this series......I could understand it a bit if it was coming from someone who played the games. This anime is very good compared to other harem animes. Most of you are saying the first couple of episode are good, which I agree to a certain extent but I've watched up to episode 09 and I don't really see any drop on anything......the plot twists are quite entertaining. Basically........I just don't understand the hate because most of this series is actually good and I only need to watch the remaining 3 episodes.
WOW.....I was actually dreading to watch this series because of the "negative hype" many gave about this anime but thats not the case anymore as I truly adore all the female characters of this series. I'm just a bit sad about the whole thing that it will finish pretty soon.
Also if the hate is also about the thing that it seems he's not pursuing his parent's muderers then thats a bit weird because since episode 07, you find out there was an organisation who killed his parents and since from then on they've played a major role so far albeit done in a silly fashion to some extent.

I just finished this series which was good to watch and I really wanted a YuuxTeppei pairing but the ending was to be expected as most of harems these days usually leave it open-ended like this series as well. It was going for an 8 for the most part of the series but for me, after episode 10 and right till the last episode, the series kinda missed out on something. Hence, my overall verdict on this series is that its good but do NOT expect too much from it and is one of the reason why I'm going to give this series 7/10.
I guess we will never see anymore of this series apart from the Princess Lover! Picture Drama (DVD Specials), which I want to watch sometime soon. Any idea how many of them there are and if they've been subbed....wait some of them have been subbed by "polished" fansub group.
I wonder if I can ever get the chance to play the game this series is based on
Dec 19 2009 06:13 AM I just watched the first episode and it was very very good in my opinion.....they intriduced 3 of the 4 main girls.....the animation is a delight, the girls are drawn beautifully. I'll be marathoning this series today.
Dec 5 2009 07:25 AM Well i waited for the dvd version so i've only seen the first 2 eps, And it's not too bad. I wouldn't want to watch the normal version now that i've seen the dvd episode.
Dunno maybe the uncensoring might make the show abit better. Now all i can hope is for the fansub group to keep releasing princess lover. Though they are quite far behind in releasing blue rays and dvds. But i've waited half a year for the dvd versions so i guess i can keep waiting lol.
Dec 5 2009 07:20 AM So are you giving this an overall of 7.75/10.....that sounds like this anime isn't all that bad like others have made it out to be.......I'm intrigued about the characters but as everyone said the plot is crap....its gets worse after like 4 episodes, which is a sad thought but regardless I will watch this series before the end of the year.

I'm gonna watch it now because you just said that is_darkness88 (I'm assuming you were born in 1988....same year as me....so your 21 or still 20 years old, so I'm going to take your word for it)....just because the first couple of episodes were decent and the beauties of this show are drawn very well. I also want to see how this show went downhill......you never know....I might just dig it...I hope.

Oct 22 2009 06:16 PM Yeah, now that i found this topic i can just say that the ending REALLY sucked something sick .... waste of 4 beauties right there! agh dam it.. well Sylvia resembles the Saber from fate stay night.. like she is a clone from her or something but, oh well she was the cutest one i just cant belive the ending was so ter-rrible ! -.- Hope if they make another anime,i hope they would make it longer and better plot & ending.

Much as I enjoyed the show I have to admit that it wasn't for any spectacular plot line..however the last couple of scenes in the final episode are a must watch just for the conversation eg. Teppei: What are you doing!? Charlotte: I'm just happy Teppei: I'm happy too but.. Charlotte: Well hello
